Well I drove by and checked it out this weekend and it doesn't look like it is going to be finished when they said. They took the sign down that said opening spring of 07, but there wasn't anyone there to talk to, so that is all I can get for now. The range is going to be amazing compared to the old one, but it still looks like there is a lot of work to do. I will keep updating the best I can.

Just a thought..... What about the Indiana Gun Club in Fortville as a site? Sounds like Atterbury will be VERY crowded if it is even open on time....

That works for me, as it's only a 7 minute drive. Might discourage some southern Indiana members though.
Plenty of room to camp here at my place if any want to make it an overnighter.

After talking to Art this morning while on a crow hunt... He said that there aren't any "picnic" type facilities there.....no shelter house or area that would be good for a group event.

I saw two pavilions at Johnson county park while camping there this fall. The only thing i didn't see was a lot of trees, no shade. Camping was like being in the middle of a big field. h.h.

There are like 4 or 5 different shelter houses at Atterbury. There are some over by the campgrounds and horshoe park and there are some others over by the basketball and tennis courts. You can even reserve them if you would like to. We reserved one a few years back for a family get together.

We're open to ideas.... Some place that we can get ahold of one of them big home-built catapults that sling washing machines and Datsun's is my perfect place...... Now I KNOW a member out there has access to such a device, and a place to use it.....let him speak up now and be heard! Gents our real goal here is to do something stupid enough to make the cut over at Country Fried Videos..... we can do it!!!
All kidding aside, I was wondering if anyone has any connections to any local Conservation Clubs that would let us host our event. Most CC's have ranges and/or skeet fields as well as picnic areas.

I do have some connections at The Bell conservation club in Ninevah. Plenty of camping room, pretty decent shooting facilities, showers, shelter house, about an 8 acre lake. They normally don't rent out to anyone for any reason ( it's not open to the public) but I could run it by them and see what they think.

Hey huxbux, I live in Nineveh and have for about 13 years now and have never heard of Bell conservation club. Where is it located and how much are the dues. I would really like to join somewhere close to home and I have thought about Morgantown CC, but one in Nineveh would be great. Thanks for any info.

I would really like to join somewhere close to home and I have thought about Morgantown CC, but one in Nineveh would be great. Thanks for any info. I believe it's Centerline rd. that it is situated on, just northwest of town. It's been there for many, many years, so someone in town should be able to direct you to it. Only problem is, it was developed and maintained as a getaway spot for Indiana Bell employees. You must be associated with the phone co. to even be eligible for a membership. I did some gratis dozer work there some years back at the suggestion of a friend in exchange for a supposed free lifetime membership. They keep a locked gate at all times, so you can't even enter without a key.

The treasurer of the club is my accountant. I'll be seeing her real soon. The idea will have to be run by the board of directors. I'll do my best.

I would also like to attend. No Sunday mornings for me and alcohol free would be the best idea!
