Your missing the point. I'm talking antlered season only. Not any doe patrol. All the doe patrol you can handle. 4 days would be fine if all I were after were anything with bone on its head. But, the chances of me killing a big buck in four days of hunting, while possible, probably isn't going to happen. A 4-day season is going to consist of four consecutive days most likely, and I've never taken off work to deer hunt. That leaves me two days. And when you hunt hundreds of acres, deer can be anywhere, so you may not see deer in the same location daily. Heaven forbid we had four days of hard rain and wind. You can't just say, "Well there's always next year", as that will lead to an overpopulation of antlered deer the following season. My personal opinion is that by reducing gun season days, you are forcing people to shoot any buck to fill their tag, which isn't conducive to growing large-antlered deer.

I love my mathews s2 but it needs new sight/string and cable. It just sits in the case I would be willing to sell it I guess since it is the last variation of the switchback it is sought after. We both shoot excaliber crossbows

I actually recently for late season and in blinds have considered getting a crossbow - I like the simplicity and style that Excalibur utilize. You never year of delaminating limbs or limbs blowing up (man my local pro-shop just stopped selling the newer Ravins as he was sick of returns).
Anyone here shoot any of their offerings? (FTR zero interest in their double strike stuff...not a fan)

I'm pretty strongly in the anti crossbow crowd. I'm still not a fan of centerfire rifles being allowed either, wish we'd have stuck with shotguns and muzzy. Would like to see shortened firearms seasons, outside of the rut. AR-15 Style rifles being used to hunt give me the creeps. Not a fan of all these rule changes over last decades to make things easier. I'm also pretty sure the DNR and about 80% or more of the other licensed hunters couldn't give a rip about my views. I've also given up worrying about it.

And whaddya know; an over/under crossbow. Strangest contraption I've ever seen. Must be for shooting clays.

If you can't get it done in 4 days time with any gun you wish then your not good enough...nobody needs a month. Oops I better make my post clear or the peanut gallery will respond... I meant a 4 day antlered firearm season. You can kill all the antlerless you want, with any weapon you want, for as long as you want. I don't think there is a very good possibility of this ever happening.

I want to see less pressure on bucks. Entirely to many yearlings are killed in my area. Bucks don't stand a chance to ever get mature.

Not the fastest but built to last and fairly easy to cock-with a rope

I want to be able to hunt where I have a chance to see a deer over 2.5 years. Heck around here your lucky to see a buck over a yearling. I'm not talking record book alien deer. Just mature bucks. It doesn't happen up here in the noRt region.

Know several guys that hunt northern Indiana and regularily kill 140+ deer, guess it just depends on local area, but I sure see northern IN's fair share of wallhangers being posted on social media.

Guys...this site has not had much drama for a good while. Let's keep it that way.
Woody has given more to Indiana hunters than most of us realize. If you come to his site to cast shade on a guys legal choice or want to restrict hunting seasons, I recommend you do it without pot stiring or passive aggressively poking at a person you have never met.

And this NW corner does have a higher hunter density.. 2 hunting friends live in Hebron area, and another, Logansport. They kill some damn good deer on regular basis. All 3 killed 150"+ in 2021, 1 killed a 150+ in bow this year, 2 others still at it.
