No rain here up North this morning but windy. Didn't hear anything on the roost but after they were on the ground got a couple to answer. The rest was classic. took about 10 minutes to get them in and as they say that's all it wrote. He ran out of the woods and beat the tar out of my Avian jake. Shot him at 15 yards in a worked field. What a muddy mess, he did back flips for what seemed like 5 minutes which turned him in to a mud ball. He hit the ground dead at 6:55. Will post pictures later.

Reports from buddies is they heard two gobbles and its been silent ever since. No sightings at all. Believe the storms shook up the birds last night. Yep..They probably didn't get a lot of sleep last night and are sleeping in.. .

Very slow today. Seen several but only heard one gobble. So when Turkey hunting gets slow, I nap!

It's snowing, raining, snowing, cold, windy, snowing and windy. Not a good day to turkey hunt. Mid-thirty's for a high. Up to 2" of snow and wind gust in the 40 mph range. Where are you at that it is snowing? Northwest Nebraska. My son shot his first Merriam yesterday and missed another.

41 degrees overcast with a fairly strong SE wind at shooting time. Never heard any but I did see one confirmed bachelor about 200 yards away that wanted nothing to do with my decoy spread or the live hen that was taking a dust bath about 100 yards away in the other direction.

Well I gave it a good go this morning despite the weather. Time for lunch, the physical therapy and maybe more hunting

Had lots of gobbling around me. Had a couple guys come set up on the fenceline and shoot one about 50-60 yards from me. I'll probably hit it again tomorrow afternoon.

Only heard one bird this morning at Hoosier Forest. I would call and he would move away. Thankfully he kept talking and my last setup was just over a hill only about 50 yards from him. He couldn't resist that and peeked over the edge. 19.5# 10" beard and 1 1/8" Spurs.

Hunted around Brookville Lake this afternoon from about 2pm until 530 or so when the rain moved in. Seen one hen on the edge of a field about 330 or so and got a gobbler fired up about 4. Got in the edge of a power line and started cutting and yelping loud and he cut me off. Got set up and made a few soft calls and he closed the distance pretty fast, but silent. One last gobble really close and then he went silent only to pop out about 25 yards from us, but he seen something he didn't like and didn't give us a clear shot. Talked to several guys and very few turkeys seen or heard today.

Went last night in the rain. Heard some yelping in front of me in the cedars, but nothing came out into field. A lone hen walk in about 60 yrd out with nothing in tow. She turned around and went into woods. Very slow, thought the rain would bring them out into fields.
