One of the bucks I’m contemplating on harvesting walked passed me at 45 yds at 5:20. That shot is too far for me so none taken. Question I have is..he walked the same way I need to leave!! Do I walk out without a light or with a light?? Tough choice. But, in those situations, if I planned on trying to sneak out, I'd take the long way around without a light. If you're wanting to go the same way? Use a light and be loud. Don't sound like a hunter or make him feel as if he's being hunted.

Back in the oak for one last crossbow sit. Only bucks on the menu tonight after last night. In late cause I had a lunch date with an old friend in Delphi. Pro tip- I hit the Sandwich Shop every year and it never disappoints....BPT and tots for the win!.....oh, and peanut butter pie. 😉 Sounds great!

I can't find an actual article online about the buck. Does anyone have a link that is not through Facebook? Here you go…. Thanks

1732 I put one through a doe.....more too follow So here it is. Sitting in the stand, very warm and listening to deer cruise in the crp refusing to be lured by a bleat. I hear some steps behind me. In exactly the same spot behind me as the doe that got me yesterday. Fool me once.. .. I slightly turn that way and caught brown coming. She walked under me, directly away and then stopped at 21 yds. I had plenty of time to set up. She turned quartering away and I squeezed the centerpoint trigger and WHACK!!! I'm using my buddy's rig and his bolt carries Schwackers and sweet baby Jeebus it blew the heart up!! She went maybe 25 yds after....the "blood trail" was a literal red carpet. Awesome!!! Well done! Sounds like an awesome shot!

Congrats to all those that got it done the last couple days. I'm now back in God's country,(the cabin). Spoke with my pop a little when I got here, his resting place looking pretty good. Walked the property, but didn't see anything that great. Looking forward to Saturday getting here. Sure feels good to be back home and out in the Woods. Good luck to you all...SF Woody Man, that is just awesome. I agree! Very cool and special

And what is going on often times involves a kill therefore posting pics of that would just go right along with it. Not that hard to keep up. Agreed. There's other things that go on that thread that aren't necessarily "Live from the woods". I think the story and harvest pics are just as important in that thread as the pics and stories about deer you're not shooting.

I have a little buddy heater in the main blind I plan on hunting and one of the smaller, more packable ones to lug around to my other blinds as needed. I doubt I go out again until the Friday after Thanksgiving. Giving the woods a little rest and my neighbors some time to connect before I go on doe patrol.

Not live but fairly close. It’s been a slow season for me so far. Several long sits with no deer seen and camera has been dead. This guy showed at 7:50 am this morning out of nowhere. He came in real quite and quick and almost got past me. Fortunately I was able to stop him in the last shooting lane I had. It may have been a little longer but from the point of first seeing him to letting the arrow fly it may have been 15 seconds. He's a gooder! Congratulations!

Well, this is exciting. I’m pretty sure I have a buck locked down with a doe about 20 yards from my stand. I got in here at 3 and let out an estrous bleat soon after. There were immediately footsteps, close by, on the other side of a 12’ tall wall of multi flora rose. A few minutes of silence, I bleat again, and am answered by a soft grunt. After a few more minutes I grunted, which led to more footsteps and what sounded like taking of antlers in the brush. He won’t step out though, any deer from that way will have to actually enter the food plot for me to see them. I’m pretty sure they’re still there, hopefully the doe leads him into the food plot before dark. Yeah buddy! Good luck!

Some folks in here giving the guy a hard time and stressing the importance of a safety harness. Makes me wonder how many have actually thought about a recovery effort after you are just hanging in a tree in your harness, are we all well prepared what to do at that stage? My harness has "recovery straps" or "suspension relief strap", whichever you want to call it, built in.
