From a PM conversation I had.........
I guess there was a call to boycott hunting in Indiana....but it was not made by Ted himself.
The post was taken down and the moderator (from Anderson, IN) that made that request has been fired....or at least releived of their duties.
There has supposedly been communication between the TNUSA folks and the folks who run the site where this mis-information originated.
I guess that TNUSA is a very busy site and controlling EVERYTHING that is posted on that site, is a full time and a half job!
I was ASSURED that Ted would NEVER call for a boycott of hunting ANYWHERE.....
I tryed to C&P the conversation, but I couldnt figure it out!
I asked if they could post a re-traction....and she said "no....Ted didn't say it" and I would have to work that out with the guy who posted it!

CAUTION!... You are about to enter the "spin zone"! Good one.. I guess with any celebrity spokespersons (espcially self appointed ones) we need to do a check and balance. Do they do more harm than good? In OUR opinion that is. I have very mixed emotions about Ted on this. I totally agree with him on some things and totally disagree with him on others. I "think" that a lot of other folks are in my same boat. Now, I do not know if Ted said this or that on his forum as I do not follow his forum. I do know that some very credible witnesses said that he did say that about "boycotting Indiana". In the heat of a "debate" we often say things that are not meant or we wish we could take back. 'Maybe' he took this one back by deleting whatever he said??? I don't know and I really don't care much as a boycott of either hunting in Indiana or his show in Indiana will go about as far as I can toss my 4Runner. BTW members... the other thread on "Nuge" was not locked because of the subject matter , but of personal attacks that were starting up. That was nipped in the bud. Keep this one clean and we can talk about "Nuge" all we want to......or until the cows come home.....or whichever happens first.....

Been a while since I read what he had to say so I could be wrong (?), but I believe he called for a boycot of Indiana, not just Indiana hunting.

I've also heard persistant rumors that he did indeed call for a boycott on hunting here because of our position on deer farming and our Director's recent ruling on the matter . Nugent is known to be a proponent of such abbatoirs , so I have little doubt that he did say it . All I can say if he did is "Fine , keep your azz in Michigan ."

I had saved the link to that thread, and it's definitely gone now... basically, a couple of regulars on his site posted an item called "Boycott Hunting Indiana" or something similar that was an initial reaction to Kyle's fenced hunting ban announcement. They stated that Indiana hunters and those in surrounding states should "send a message with their pocketbooks" to IDNR by boycotting hunting, ranted about fenced hunting being the future of the sport, etc..... anyway, at one point Nuge had a post on there defending the high fence ops and private property rights and that "sportsmen" should support those operations with their $$$'s... in that particular thread, I don't recall him directly saying he supported a boycott, but was more of a "read-between-the-lines" supportive spin... he may well have said it directly in later posts, but I had better things to do (like visiting Woody's site) than keeping up on the latest nugey ventings... I did not see him saying the boycott wasn't a good idea...

Nuge is one of the good guys he is one of the very few celebs that promote guns and hunting instead of trashing them like most celebs do these days. Any one may make a comment that may get spread out of context or they in that case were wrong but for the most part the nuge has done a whole lot more good for the industry than bad.

I think I met the guy from Anderson. He was conducting creel surveys at the canoe launch at Mounds park last year. My wife and I were just walking by and he yelled at me "You a hunter?" I walked over to him to see what was going on and he was peddling all kinds of crap to become a member of Nugents org. I thanked him for the flier and left. He was a real go getter but a little over the top, sort of like Uncle Ted himself.

I just don't think Ted is the type that is going to draw a line between hunters.
Do you support hunting with a shotgun
Do you support hunting with archery
Do you support hunting behind a fence
Do you support hunting with a crossbow
Do you support hunting trophy deer
Do you support hunting on public land
Do you support hunting with high power rifles
He would answer YES to all!...Because he supports hunting!!!!
No lines between brothers!

Here is a guy that is currently making millions off his love for hunting. Manufactures are standing in line trying to get Ted to pitch their products.
It would be suicide for Ted to ask ANYONE to boycott HUNTING ANYWHERE!!!!!!
He just said on the CNBC program that he is running for govenor of Michigan in 2010

YOU can use BAIT in Texas too can’t you? Kinda like the thread posted here under “ENOUGH? ?” This thread has nothing to do with the “NUGE” and everyone knows it…… Just like the CONGRATS thread……… Its all about promoting an agenda and trying to “bait” others to stand up and then be punished or BANNED for not conforming…. NUGE is just another avenue to leech on to pursue the final goal.. Just like the “COWBOY RIFLE THREAD.”………. OR singing the praises of a certain Senator when all that know how the Government system works knows (Including the Senator) that it should only be used as means of last resort. The sad part is I ( and many others) didn’t really care about your underlying agenda until I saw the tactics you used to achieve them! I suppose this would be considered a personal attack? ( Although it isn’t. Just a mere observation of facts compiled over time). THAT being said I am ready to take my punishment………. Edited...< Gundude puts on his blindfold, lights his last smoke, and bravely stands before the firing squad!> Edited..

ONE LAST THING>>>>>>>> HOW MANY of you that are ready to cast your vote will be attending a meeting HERE in in INDIANA this week trying to preserve hunting rights and the quality of our forests so that there is actually something there to hunt? How many of you will be reviewing material an staying up till 2 am writing emails and making contacts to make sure sportsmen rights are preserved? HOW MANY of YOU go out of your way to county council meetings that aren't even in your county or where you hunt and try to stand up for some injustice that is about to come down on sportsmen. ( EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T HAVE A DOG IN THAT FIGHT!)... SORRY but I try an avoid the Lime Light and I haven't been contacted by PMS NBC to do a feature on my efforts! And frankly I don't care. I merely make a stand for ethics, tradition, common sense, and my kids............. THATS MY AGENDA and my only need for glorification..............
cast your votes............... I have said my peace........... I only ask that WOODY leave this thread up long enough for all to see the TRUTH! Lots of good people here.... ......... And I wish them all the best........................ Have a Joyful safe hunting season!
