Did a last minute check on all our stands today. Put out couple more cams.
Saw two shooter bucks (for me) and a basket, as well as two does, all from stands. Pretty confident we will have some action tomorrow.
This will be Luke's first gun season opening morning hunt! I wanted to make sure he could handle an all day hunt if needed. The truck won't be far if we need a quick break or pit stop for lunch. But, made him understand no going home or cutting the day short, unless tagged out or similar. Made point clear, only one opening day a year, gotta make it count. We are sharing a two man stand, with good shooting area all around. Should be awesome!

Just saw a shooter. Looked like he had a broadhead hole right on his front leg just below the body. Tried grunting him in but wasn’t interested. Appeared to have a little limp but otherwise ok.

Beautiful day in the stand. Not to hot,not to cold, not to windy,no rain and saw a big set of tracks along woods on way in AND all 3 scrapes have been freshend after the rain. Only thing that would make it better is if something with horns cooperated with me

Not from the stand, but thought I’d share. My daughter just text me to say her principal just did the morning announcements and told everyone good luck on opening day tomorrow. Aren't going to find that in many schools nowadays. Back in the day when hunters ED first came out you could take the class at school don't believe they do that anymore

Sure that many of you have missed or made a bad shot on a buck of a lifetime. Right now I'm devastated. Buck with 5 browtines all at least 7-10" long. Been watching this buck all week. 30 yards right through no mans land. Sure he will live & maybe see him again but I'm beside myself!

Not a miss, but I had a failure to execute on a wallhanger at 30 yards on Monday. That encounter has lived rent-free in my head for days. I feel for ya.
