I’m at my place tonight, sitting the big food plot. Looks like not a ton of activity on the cams I checked on the way in. We shall see.

I did that with my Ravin maybe 3 years ago? Fortunately didn’t harm a thing on it and it can still hit the broadside of a barn at 30 yds. 😁 Which right now my daughter is using.

I went back out at 3:30. Not my favorite stand location. Saving best for gun, plus wind was wrong for best two stands. The one in now will get moved this winter. My guess last week of the year.

Well, that’s the downside of a big food plot. Just had a whopper stroll across about 80 yards out. Ignored my grunting and wheezing.

Had a doe come by with a scruffy 4 point following then about 10 minutes later a button buck.

My boy can't catch a break. Just had yet a different buck cruise by looking for does. He might have been 20 yards

Pulled my cameras today and got at least 4 different bucks that looked 3.5 or up. Nothing huge, just some good looking young deer.

Well went to foodplot private spot I have about mile down road from Bluegrass stand and that half racked 4 point came through! He was covering some ground today. Also grunted in wide, young 8 point to food plot out of the thick stuff behind me. Gave me 3 different broadside looks. Young deer but if he can make it another 2 years going to be a massively wide rack. Fun to grunt him in

Almost got it done right at dark. A doe pulled the big one across the field. She came within 30 yards. He stopped to make a scrape on the property line. Then turned around and chase some more does that were in the field with him. Ugh
Ended up seeing several bucks and does

Moved to north end farm this afternoon, saw pretty good movement with 5 doe's and couple young bucks. Grunted this guy to 10 yards, he got all briseled up and stiff legged, looking for a fight. Good encounter, just not what i'm after.

I ended up having 7 more deer come into the plot after the big buck passed through. One was another shooter, he walked about 100 yards down the edge of the plot making scrapes. He curved back into the woods before coming into range.

Got out about 3 but the wind was wrong for the whole property. Blowing from North to South. Luckily it was time to break out the scent blocker spray and the doe-in-estrus spray.... Very quiet most of the time other than a few birds. Saw 1 grey up a tree about 50 yards out around 5:20 after doing a rattling sequence. The deer never came to the right side of the creek - about 5:30 1 headed down the slope into the plantation across the creek from a field up on that side, then a big doe showed up for a moment near the creek bank on that same side walking away from the spot they like to cross. Saw a white tail flicker while walking away from me towards the back of the other plantation and towards a field that's back there. I think both deer headed into that field. A little after sunset another deer, possibly a small buck (couldn't truly tell) took the same path from the upper field that the first had taken. I rattled, grunted, bleated, sprayed the doe-in-estrus too (needed to spray it every half hour anyway) and no one came across the creek, but no one detected me either. Fox squirrel then started messing around behind the stand a little. Ended the evening with a tiny winter wren singing and moving around between trees near me - it came and sat on a branch next to me for a moment. Thinking about going out tomorrow morning - but need to think about logistics since I am looking to shoot a doe or a buck with a minimum of 115" (I know, that's small for many of you but that's the size of my biggest one - have seen a few giants while hunting before so I do know what to look for - Have my eye on one buck who hangs out just over the property line from our best stand - he's the one I saw a week and a half ago bossing some does around). There are 2 other stands, but both of them are climbers and I have never used one, plus I sort of prefer the other stands anyway due to the high success rate in one and the high number of bucks that walk past the other in mid-November.

Conditions can't get much better. (Finally, some 30's. ) Gonna hit stand, hoping a target buck makes a mistake this morning.
