Live from the front porch........2 small bucks racing across the cut bean field and 12 turkey. Steady rain and pretty breezy.

We skipped Big Oaks today and stayed home. Got a veterans service and dinner to help with at church.

I just settled in. Got a little wet, not bad. Somebody was set up pretty close to where I was headed originally, so I’m in a new spot I’ve never hunted before.

Called it quits for now. Wind was getting going and from the wrong direction. Pretty good morning 4 different bucks harassing some does. Im pretty locked in on one particular buck that i want to shoot right now though so everything else is getting a pass for now.

Laid around this morning. Just got into stand. Kind of second guessing my spot. Wind isn't bad but just not sure.
1st afternoon sit for me. Hope a buck decides to play about 2pm so I can get him out before dark. I am like a turkey in the evening...straight to bed at dark time.

Little basket skirted by at 80 yards. 2nd time I have seen a buck take that trail this week. Nice gun range for me but this one would have got a pass regardless.
Wind is swirling more than I had hoped but oh well. Better than watching colts!

Walking to foodplot stand and jumped small yearling just inside woodline. Guess they are on feet after crappy conditions last few days here in Evansville

Just got setup for the evening. Thick nasty swamp next to cut corn. Pretty strong wind so we’ll see how it goes. Slept in this morning with pretty good rain coming down. Hate that I’m wearing thin early season camo in November.

We are out. I knocked over my xbow twice and didnt have time to check zero, so Im skurry hunting. I already missed one high up in the wind with the 22. Luke is out for deer, against the woods, so fairly calm for him. Too windy and warm, yuck.

Apparently the memo came out that everybody should sight in their guns today. Like WW3 That was the last 2 days around here...it'll continue all week. At least this year isn't like last year where folks were gun hunting a week early because they "thought" it was opening weekend 🙄 of I'd of had my gun that Saturday, a B&C stud would be hanging at my house...🤷 |

Had another buck cruise by at 4pm. I am getting colder so maybe it is cooling off a bit. Wind is swirling but not bad strength wise.
