Here’s a pic of my free buck. That blood spot is the exit. He was facing me with his head down making a scrape when he went to heaven. Hit him on top of the shoulder other side. He dropped in his scrape.  |

Buck down. Little ground shrinkage but I'll take it. Things were pretty quiet besides a few does early and then just after 10:00 I heard all kinds of crashing and grunting and four bucks we're chasing one doe. When he came by I had to yell to get him to stop that did him in. Now on to getting my reduction zone buck.   WTG……what scope is that on the crossbow not sure I ever seen one that big on a crossbow, Interesting! |

What an exciting afternoon! 4 matures came in and where chasing each other, running circles around trees! And the vocalization was out of this world! I mean, these squirrels were just getting with it! Lol!
Now, if I could only get some deer to do the same thing.

I sat all day minus an hour and all I saw was 3 squirrels. A could hear a lot of shooting in KY with their opener being today.

Got down this morning at 11:00 to head home to mow and clean out gutters. Headed back to the stand at 1:00 and the same group of deer were in the same spot as when I left. The shooter was chasing off the younger ones, but never got close enough for a shot before dark. Maybe next time….

Good evening. Deer were coming and going within minutes of getting on stand. 5 bucks, 4 doe's. A 120" class came in right at dark , rest were 1 and 2 year olds. Will rest up tomorrow, as looks like a wash out. Am off Monday, so be back at it.

Saw 1 deer tonight. It went thru the thicket like a streak of lightning. Don't know what it was except a deer. Was a nice sit tonight

Hunted til 11:30 and then back out around 2.....dead as a doornail, except for several trophy size squirrels. Thought for sure they'd be moving before this front comes in. Well they probably were, just not in my area. LOL

Hunted this morning 2.5 year old 8 point , spike after that . Took evening off to watch IU . Morning is first gun on Crane . Umbrella is ready for morning.
