Dang, you guys had quite a bit of action today. I saw one little buck and a coyote (he winded me before I had a chance at him). I'll be after em again tomorrow morning. Hopefully the law averages will be in my favor tomorrow.

About an hour left and a spike came in and hung around for 20 minutes or so..... then a coon wandered around the bottom of my tree for the last 30-40 minutes. Nice night.

Gotten quiet here. Just ordered a heated vest. Been really considering a heated vest,if you don't mind, what kind and how much? I really like Venustas, and no, I’m not pro staff. I left it in the bin today and paid the price… it’s worth every penny, but you need to wear it over one shirt only.

Hunting private or public? I have been trying to get my group together to go to S.D. But they all are deer hunting. Lol Public land. North central iowa has a ridiculous amount of public land. Let me know how you do. Would love to get my two GSPs out there.

Long sit few deer. I did see 2 bucks just befor sun down. A 4 pt going N And the biggest 6 point I think I ever have ever seen going S. He was ear wide, good, not great mass and BIG body. I think he was at least 2 maby 3 years old. I would have been proud to have taken him. I did accomplish what I wanted which was to see if that stand would be a good gun stand and I think it will work out good. Squrrels were very active today. I saw 6 at one time and 2 red/ pineys at the same time.

I left it in the bin today and paid the price… it’s worth every penny, but you need to wear it over one shirt only. I have a Pnuma vest. It works great and the battery life is better than advertised. It is a "next-to-skin" vest, which is why I suggest buying a size or two larger than normal. I've always preferred a little less tight fit, just my preference. They are not cheap, around $150, which is why I will ignore the fit and use mine until it dies. My neighbor told me about Pnuma. He was elk hunting in CO and his guide gave him crap about using artificial heat. A few days later the guide was freezing while Jack was comfy. The guide pulled out his phone and ordered one from the mountain. I plan to get a heated fleece vest for work. I've looked into the Venustas and Ororo. They both look good.

In the stand and ready for the day. Had four different bucks in this area on cam through the middle of the day yesterday. Hopefully there’s some repeats.

Public land. North central iowa has a ridiculous amount of public land. Let me know how you do. Would love to get my two GSPs out there. It’s been pretty difficult. However, let me point out that my brother and I are pretty inexperienced in this type of hunting. His gsp is young and while he does great on out and take hunts back home and some wild birds in Indiana, this is a whole different ball game up here. There are a lot of pheasants and we haven’t seen hardly anyone hunting them other than us. There is also A TON of public land access up here. It would definitely be worth the trip out.
