I’m in the same general area as yesterday just about 100 or so yards further south. Saw deer cruise through here yesterday, so hoping they do the same today. A repeat of yesterdays action would be amazing.

Second visitor -- adult doe. I felt I was a little exposed on the side of this tree, so I rotated my climber around it about 90 degrees. I'd just sat down when a doe started blowing at me from about 30 yards away. She never ran, but I'm glad that she shut up and moved on. Lol!

OK, I gotta ask, how did you get that close to get that picture? It was a few yards in front of my stand. I have a Samsung phone and the zoom is very high on it. That little forkhorn was in our back yard again last night. We just got the S24 and I think it shows 30X on the zoom.

All set. Daughter is sitting with me in the timber. Two single ladder stands on the same tree. Farmer was cutting corn late into the night so not sure how that’ll effect everything.

No signal where we hunted last night.
We saw a nice buck trot by at 3:30 when we were doing some work.
Then in the stand, I only seen a bb walk by at 30yd, but heard other deer. Those other deer were giving Luke quite a show! He had two bucks and six does within 30yds for 20min. He was excited to see some close action, and the bucks were dogging a doe. Later he said one buck was about shootable, but he waited. Then he said he could have shot a doe, but just enjoyed watching them. Good job kid.
So, he sure has more patience than I ever did, and maybe do now. Lol.

I already told you about the fawn and buck that came thru. A short time later I saw another deer way out in front of me. It was a small bodied raggedy 4 pt. He mosied in and to my left. Then came to an abrupt halt. Stuck his nose in the air and got all antsy. Don't know if he smelled me or what but he turned around and made a big circle and left to my left. He never got in a hurry. It was very close to sundown and I am thinking I had a good sit. I was listening to the squrrels scurrying around and one did not sound right so I looked to my left and there is a deer at 20 yrds comming from behind me. I have sat this aera numerous times and never had a deer come thru from that direction. I even have put trail cameras out and not gotten any pictures of deer from that way. To say I was surprised is an understatement. Just like the other deer it was in no hurry to go anyplace so I started easeing my crossbow around to that direction. I finally got it and me turned just as it stepped out from behind a big tree and stopped. Picked the spot and shot. It took off and I saw it start to falter at 80ish yards then heard the crash. As soon as all was quiet I hear more crunching and look left again and another deer is standing there looking where the other deer ran. Now the fun begins. My cross bow has a crank, I have to detach the crank and get it inguaged. Then because of all the excitement I for got I have to push a button and slide the carriage down and attach it to the string so detach crank, push button ,slide carriage down, attach crank start cranking, carage comes up string dont. What the heck. Oh ya, ya got to shove carriage into string hard so it engages. All this while watching the deer and trying to not draw attention. So it is detach crank, push button, slide carriage down, push carriage till feel it engage, attach crank push button so it doesn't go click click click as I crank, and crank. Unattached crank, now try to get arrow out of quiver and on bow. I got all that dune and did not scare the deer off. I can't believe it. Now maneuver bow into a firing posision and wate for the deer to give me a shot. A few seconds later she takes a step and stops 13 yards broad side and I pulled the trigger. She takes off on the same trail as other deer but soon peels off to the right and makesa semicircle and goes down in sight at 50ish yards. As soon as she crashes a buck comes running in from the thicket and goes to her and just walked around her I don't know how meny times. He was not big but I would have shot him if he gave me a shot but he didn't and I couldn't because I only had 2 arrows and they are both stuck in the dirt to my left. He stayed so long I ran my bow down on the rope and had all my stuff packed so I could get down as soon as he left. Which I did after dark. I can't post pictures and do HI with out loosing one or the other so I will post this, co copy pictures then come back and edit this and install picture and doo it all over again for next picture Onebentarrow This is the little fawn bedded behind the stand at 35 yds Here are the two deer after getting them pulled out with the ATV. They are dress out and loaded in the truck and I am sitting in camp smiling, cuckeling, and relieving the hunt. It wasn’t just a good day it was a great day. Life don't get no better than this. Onebentarrow Congrats!! That's why you never throw in the towel until the time is up. Good going!!!!!

We are doing a late start hunt, on purpose.
Got other things we have to do today, so working to fit it all in our schedule.
Luke is deer hunting, but its skurries only for me, from the deer stand still. 😄

Two different pairs of doe and fawn for me so far. The second pair is now bedded about 50 yards away right at my eye level on a hillside.

Little movement early, 3 doe and a button, 8 turkeys also. Prolly head on shortly, think warm temps have moving more at night. Evenings seem to be more active currently.

Well boyfriend passed on a spike this morning, first thing he’s had in range. For a first timer he did very well every time out. Just needs a new guide. He thought the whole thing was pretty cool, even though it was a slow weekend. He and my daughter are coming back for fun opener, he will shoot a doe then if need be.

Quite the contrast from yesterday. Had a couple under me in the dark and a forky at legal light but that's it. The squirrels aren't even squirrelin'. Breeze picking up now may give it another hour.
