I use the Primos Can call. Best call I’ve ever used. Original sized one. Like everything else in deer hunting - they work …sometimes. A few years back I had a good buck come from behind me and passed by just a little out of range. . I pulled out my grunt to try and turn him back, but that didn’t work. Pulled out the Can turned it halfway to give an abbreviated bleat, followed by a grunt and here he came back. He went right past me and then stopped about 7 yards or so from my tree, trying to pinpoint that bleat he heard. Perfect quartering away shot. Short trailing job and he was mine. |

I have developed a heck of a coughing cold. Gonna decide in the morning to hunt or not. If I do I’ll have a pocket full of cough drops with me.

Did not see one deer tonight. Had one walk by after leagle time I could not see and had o e snort way south but that was it on deer. Saw a squirrel almost become dinner. A gray colored halk came whizzing thru and the squirrel jumped behind the tree a split second befor the halk got there. I'll bet there is a wet spot on that tree that smells like urine.
It was still a good night in the tree.

Passed on a 120ish 8 point tonight, not a bad looking buck just not what I want to shoot this year. This was my first solo sit, probably the hardest place I know of to get to, I've been learning this spot for a few years and uncovered a huge clue tonight. Looking forward to watching what comes by this year and the years going forward just gotta figure out an easier way to get there 🤣!

Warming up the truck for my short drive woke up a tad early hope that 8 will still be around probably a short hunt today. Wind turns into the wrong direction by 11

Frost on the pumpkin at 30deg this morning. Unfortunately too pooped to be out after the week I had. We will be in the woods Saturday night and Sunday morning for sure. Good luck men, should be some serious action this morning.
