Started my season this afternoon. Hope its fast and quick. Want to fill the freezer a little. And most importantly. Ready to get the bird dogs out. Which starts a week from today.

Someone help me out here with an answer. It's been to long since I have taken a deer I guess. Looking to buy extra archery license and do not see an option. Am I picking archery license again? It used to say extra archery didn't it? Yes, just another archery license. I don’t think extra archery has been an option for a while now. |

Already had a tall 7 come in. Younger buck that ended up going into the thicket. Good to see them moving early.

Well my fellow Clay County buddy and friend just made my day when he text me. He informed me. Which he is right. That upland started today. Not next Friday like I was thinking. Now I set here on the side of a tree wondering WHY? LOL |

Kinda scouted our way in as there isn't any prescouting. On a finger of a ridge that transitions from a hardwoods ridge into a big thicket. Found a bunch of fresh scrapes on the way in. In this program they've gotta shoot a doe first so that's what we're after.

Already seen a small 8 and a doe.

7 does and 3 small bucks grunting and chasing them. 100 yards out.

Passed up a 125 inch 8 , then a 5 pointer few minutes ago . Come on big boys get to moving

Went Hovey Fish and Wildlife this morning. Got there and started my walk in and got blown up by doe's blowing. It was still dark so I continued my walk 1500 yrds to my spot. As soon as I got into the woods I had a doe huffing and puffing but it was still on the dark side. At 6:57 this morning I had a deer come in to my right, and I got the Wrath 430 ready for action. The deer stopped at 18 yrds with its head behind a tree at 7:15, so I put the scope on the front shoulder and let the Schwacker 3" broadhead do the rest. When the broadhead made contact it sounded like a .22 Magnum going off and I watched the deer take off and the left front shoulder wasn't in good shape. Sat there for ½ hr and went to find blood where I shot it at, but I didn't find any blood. I decided to investigate where I seen the deer go and after a 34 yrd walk there it was laying dead. I'm not including any pictures due to respect for the deer, since I was unable to put the tongue back in its mouth. I'm thankful for the harvest but I'm not "proud" since it was a 3 pointer and I was sure it was a doe because of the behavior it was expressing before I harvested it

Well I just passed on the unicorn buck If he makes it he'll turn into a giant He's probably only 2.5 I bet. 11 points right now  |

Passed a maybe130, decent beams and mass not real wide and really short brows 8. He was lightly harassing a doe then let her feed off another direction. 3 other does and a fork horn. Decent evening so far.

I walked about 6 miles today scouting for my KY weekend hunt. And, of course, a 160" or so showed up on one of my IN cameras last night.

I had a Big 8 Point Buck chasing a doe around For a good half an hour and the junkyard looking back I guess I should have grunted at him they did 3 circles in junkyard She did everything right and came by my stand right at 20 yd he stopped at 45 yd I only shoot at 30 he stopped shortwheezed rubbed Both sides of the trails Then headed in the same way he came in about 3 minutes go by the doe is still in front of me at 20 yd I see horns coming down a trail I put a Scent drag on I say game on But With my luck outpops the most ugliest buckk I've seen in my life. Chases the doe away as she Is not ready and I never see the 8 again
Do you guys grunt at these bucks when the doe is not ready?
