I let an arrow loose this morning on a nice buck that I wish I had back. 30 yard broadside shot on a stationary deer is money all day. Except for a sapling that deflected my arrow off target. Got a pass through in its neck but a got a bad feeling it's just a nasty soft tissue wound. Going to give him til noon before I take up the trail. The only upside is he will either be dead right there or he will live.. Hate it when stuff happens! Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you have a successful recovery on him. Please keep us posted. Sorry you're going through this. Most of us have been there and do not relish it one bit.

8:25am- could have shot another doe that was with her, but it looked to be a large fawn with her. But not large enough for me to want to mess with two today. Anyway... My grandpa was a WW2 vet and carried a Garand through the Battle of the Bulge. My parents and I were cleaning out the old horse barn to sell the property after he and my grandma had passed away. In a nuts/bolts organizer (that I still have) was a lone, modern Remington 30-06 round. We don't know where it came from as he never owned anything except a single shot 12 gauge after his service. I pulled the bullet and turned the brass into a keychain for my Mom and I kept the bullet all this time. I picked up a used single shot 30-30 this last year and I loaded that 150 soft point to get a doe for Mom in his remembrance. God is good. Happy hunting everybody! That's awesome! 😎

Finally seen deer this morning. 2 does and an 8pt buck. Could have shot the buck easily but decided to hold off. With how slow its been here probably the wrong decision but oh well. I had seen a doe come off the hillside earlier. About 10 minutes after i caught just the tail end of a deer coming off the hill on the same trail. I hit my grunt tube just in case and within a minute had this buck walking to my tree. He was clearly still in rut as i watched him zig zag all over the place before he finally left back the way he came.

If it didn't he will recover and be chasing does again tomorrow. Good luck!

Got a call from a good work compradray that his daughter got a 140 lb halr rack this morning. If you been on here a while this is the young lady that fell out of a tree stand getting down and messed up her leg/ankel. Needing 6-8 surgeries. I am so proud of her for not giving up. Will post a picture whin I get it.

I believe he bled to death after he bedded on the next ridge.

Joe Bacon got a very nice 17-pointer with a muzzleloader this morning in Switzerland County, but I've not been given permission to post the photo yet. He posted on Facebook. Good one.

Well been hitting pretty hard between work and hunting. Went this morning and seen nothing. Switching back to archery and going to Hovey Lake to try for a doe but not feeling pumped due to the traveling through construction 🙃

Thanks for posting it. I was told not to post it here until it hit Facebook. The problem is that I gave up Facebook in 2018 and would have no idea when it was posted. LOL!

The boy wanted to try Ohio tonight so I obliged. Set up in what I think is a staging area between bedding and crops. Tons of fresh tracks and droppings. Fingers crossed
