Despite the past 15 yrs of waterfowling being a fading spot in my activities...I am getting somewhat excited about this year. Facebook reels and tictok clips of flocks of birds cupped and committed, lots of dove hunting this year, and more free time than I have had in a long time has me getting itchy for waterfowl again.
Sorting decoys, bought a few more boxes of 3" 4-shot, setting up my a-frame blind. Looking for more decoys and different blinds. Someone punch me and tell me to wake up, I know I am delusional. But man the 1st 10 yrs of hunting a good area with great buddies is a hard feeling to walk away from. Tried many times. Quit smoking was easier than this.
So who wants to hunt this year?

I love duck hunting. Where will you hunt? Have you ever had luck hunting at monroe-stillwater? Tried stillwater 1 time. Got last pick and tried a different spot. Figure I would hunt main lake the most. Let me know. Most Fridays-Sundaus are open for me. |

Long drive to not have birds to hunt but man when it is good over there...it is great. If you want to try Monroe with me too let me know. |

Any good hunts so far duff? No. Went out on an early split for central zone. 0 shots. A weird thing happened and I started deer hunting more than normal so took the drive away from waterfowl. I have been keeping my eyes peeled though and the birds just are not around |

I usually get mine from the Arkansas fw I think all you need is the receipt and # it takes awhile for the stamp to arive

They do, but there is a grace period while you wait, so a receipt will work for like 45-days if I recall. I just screenshot my confirmation if needed. |

I heard about 45-50 shots in 4 different "groups" this morning from sunrise to about 45 minutes post sunrise. All from the same area where there is a pond thats about 3/4 acre and typically completely covered with duckweed.

I'm thinking about skipping this weekend due to warm temps. I've never fall turkey hunted and earlier in November there was a few on my lease. No idea if they will still be there. I also dropped an SD card where I parked so I'll be armed with a metal detector also. Or I still have a doe tag and I have someone that wants another deer...decisions.
