No rain, no gobbling taking a couple days off.
62 degrees is not my idea of turkey weather.

Been nice sitting on the back porch watching turkeys strut and listening to them gobble behind the house this morning. Feels like a great morning to be out.

We put off the morning hunt for various reasons. Still hoping for a late afternoon sit.

I got this from a buddy who hunts on the state forest behind the house. He took this yesterday and told me his son is never coming back! LOL

After an extremely frustrating day changing brakes on my wife's Aspen, it's nice to relax and watch the turkeys sound off behind the house. Fuzzy photo. I was too lazy to get my better camera.

The weather turned out to be too good to ignore. Yard work, walking, exercise, travels, etc all added up to a good day. Unfortunately we didnt see any birds anywhere in our local travel area. So we decided to enjoy a great day outside at home with the family. Still got next weekend to get it done.

Dad still isn't feeling the best from being sick. Took him Saturday morning and it just completely done him in all day. After all he has been through the last couple months I am just glad he is still with us. Let alone getting him out to hunt a couple times. Any way my B.I.L. came down with his new A.R 10 that he wanted to shoot. So we took it over to my place. We shot it about 10 times. And every time we shot a bird gobbled back at us from the lower field. About 2 in the afternoon. Hopefully Dad can get a little strength back and I can get him on a bird this coming weekend. Good luck to everyone still at it this week.

Heard one gobble at daybreak and one more time. Sounded like he was headed south away from me. Had 2 come by at the field edge, but wouldn't come into the woods. I don't have permission to hunt the field, so I'm set back into the woods about 50 yards. Gave a couple soft clucks, but they just kept walking. Thought they would come when they saw my feeding hen.

Well it’s warm, but I’m out here seeing if anything is interested in playing this game we call hunting. Nothing so far. Ive walked the west side of the property and now overlooking a field but will need to call them off it to have a chance. Got the turkey flu for tomorrow as well. May be my last chance of the season.

I really wish I was live from the turkey woods! Daphne decided she's not interested in going. I have a friend who lost his piece earlier this year so I told him (consent from both land owners of course) he could head on out to my spot and give it ago.

Same here, just notified my new boss not to expect me till Thursday. Rest of the season is forecasted for rain (for the time being of course).

I moved spots towards where birds usually roost. Set up, called and not five minutes passed and a coyote comes out of the woods, into the pipeline, and stalking the decoys. He won’t be doing that any more. Always willing to take out one of those critter gitters.
