Getting up bright and early to go get my buddy his first Tom in the morning before work (perks of a hunting company). I’ve been on them the last couple mornings so praying we can connect on one here in TN!

Just finished breakfast (bacon and cheese omelette with toast), getting dressed and then walking to woods!

Deer has been blowing for several minutes. It only took off because a coyote is out in the field barking. Sounds a couple hundred yards away.
Maybe I'm not the only thing that'll mess up this hunt lol!

Unfortunately no I did not. There were only 2 open spots. I had a contingency plan in place to hunt another public land that is open hunting. Not a whole lot of birds there but it's hunting nonetheless. Got there and 3 vehicles in the parking lot changed my mind. Just wasn't worth the risk to me. I'm pretty disappointed but those are the breaks of being a public land hunter. I'll try again tomorrow morning and hope for the best. |

Overlooking a rye field. A bit taller than I’d like but not bad. 5-6 gobblers sounding off within a 100 yards or so I’d say. 🤞
