Just got setup on a field edge. Haven’t hunted here yet but did some drive by scouting and have seen a good group in here each time. No gobbling yet 🤞

I called in a hen. She was just a clucking and a yelping away. Luke got a full experience on some real sounds finally. Was really hoping for a gobbler in tow, but nothing yet... this is his first year of actually being serious and wanting to hunt them. Cool to watch!

Set up on the other side of the ridge closer to where I encountered the gobbler yesterday, except today he’s not having any of my calling. He’s at the point about 100 yards way going at it. I some how left my striker at the house so it’s only mouth calls today. I’m not bad, just can’t get the excited cuts with it. If not nothing happens I’ll be setting up near his roost tonight. He’s roosted there two days in a row now

Have heard at least 8 different birds gobbling this morning. Of course the same three I’ve been hunting all season continue to go away from anywhere I set up. They’ll mess up one day. Now I just sit and wait unless another sounds off I can go after.

Had another hen go by. Joking to Luke that my calling doesnt scare them away at least. He was skeptical. Lol.
Not a single gobble for us yet.

Sitting here watching the Tom’s over in a grass fence row area about 400 yards into the next field over still going at it guess I got to fixated on them had a hen walk ten feet in front of me I didn’t have a clue till she was dead center.
Not sure if she did go but she turned and I watched her head straight for the Tom’s Guess I’ll break out the coffee sure is a nice morning here

Birds are tight lipped today in Clay County. But still enjoying the time in the blind with Dad.
