Never heard or saw anything except a nice young buck deer and geese.
The wind is roaring hard enough it try lifting my blind several times, had to reposition the stakes.
Called it a day at 9:00am.

Almost live from the turkey woods... Might actually get to go Friday or Saturday or both! So popped up the blind and doused it inside and out with permethrin and sprayed my clothes and Abbie's in case I can talk her into going along. Bought a spare tank for my Ryobi weed sprayer and it is now a permethrin tank. So easy and the material gets soaked! And yes, I sprayed the blind bag, too. 😁

I don't usually spray my blind until it's up though (private ground). I spray the grass around and inside my blind as well, including the chairs. I hate ticks! Lol

Lol I used it for the first time before opening day, and I must say I never saw a single tick in 3 days of rolling around on the ground. Last year, I had to big bomb my car because I carried them into the trunk

My first turkey was apparently the neighborhood tick mule and the bed of the truck was crawling with ticks by the time I got home. Next turkey rode home in the trash bag and I breasted it out, took the thighs, beard, lower legs, and fan off while it was still sitting in the bag. Reclosed the bag and dropped it in the trash.

He left so I thought they were coming but it was another gobbler he didn't like apparently. I saw the new bird and about 15 minutes later I shot him. 40 yard shot with 20 gauge heavy shot. When I was gathering my stuff he started to get up and I had to go shoot him again. He's not as big as the other bird but he'll do.

He only weighed 17.8 lb. 10-in beard and like half inch spurs. I haven't measured them. Not one pellet in the meat. I must have hit him with like one pellet.
