I didn't manage to get a picture but I blackened some bass and crappie with old bay and tony chachere's for dinner Tuesday night. It was nice to take a break from frying fish.

I have tried crappie but it ended up more mushy than normal. I do like blackened fish though

I didn't get any pictures but I made deer quesadillas in my blackstone. I put some spices on the chopped up deer and browned it. I put a tortilla shell on the griddle and lightly sprinkled some cheese on it. After a few seconds I flipped it over and filled it with cheese and deer. Folded in half and then finished cooking. The first bit of cheese puts a crispy coating on the outside. The family loved them. It was super easy and quick to make.

Pot of deer and beef burger chili with black eyed peas instead of beans. Some yummy walleye. The fish we had cleaned by the boys at the dock were not zippered. So half our take home needed some cleaning up to save a mouth full of bones. It didnt take much, and then some trimming to uniform size for even cooking really makes it an easy meal.

Think I might have mentioned this before? I've been frying up a bag of shrimp, andouille sausage, and then cracking some eggs into them with butter. Had it twice this week it was so dang good!

I’m gonna have to try some of that andouille sausage. See it at meijer, but have never bought any. We’ve been grilling up shrimp with some dinners lately too. Little cajun seasoning and it’s pretty good.

I have found that one way to women's heart is by making her a killer breakfast.
Yesterday we had BLT'S so I saved some bacon bits. This morning I made soft boiled eggs, lightly toasted Texas Toast, fresh avocado and cherry tomatoes chopped green onions and the last of my HONEY mushrooms from last year that I sauteed in butter with onions. I put all of the ingredients together and sprinkled some of the bacon bits on top.
BAM OUT OF THE PARK!

We walked into Walmart at the right time today!!! The meat handler was marking down steak. Jeez o Pete, we left with a large quantity of mostly NY strip, a few ribeyes, t-bones, and fillets. That restocked the ole freezer real quick!

What's your idea of the classic fish fry meal?
For me it is: a. Crappie, bluegill or catfish fillets chunked up into small pieces, breaded with Andys, then fried at 365 in peanut oil. b. Hush puppies made from Jiffy corn muffin mix, an egg oir two and some shelled sweet corn blended into the balls. Fry these ahead of the fish. c. Homemade cole slaw (no store bought stuff) using cabbage, onion and carrot with some Marzetti slaw dressing. d. Tarter sauce or cocktail sauce on the side.
Used to fry potatoes or french fries, but don't bother messing with that stuff anymore, just fish, hush puppies and slaw.

I forgot to take any pics, but I let myself eat whatever I wanted for dinner tonight. We had each of our parents over and we fried and grilled up some of the Lake Erie walleye we caught last week and added some lake Monroe crappie as well. Had Andy’s regular and Cajun batters. Man that walleye is delicious. Also had hush puppies, potato salad, pasta salad, homemade Mac n cheese, coleslaw, deviled eggs, and a snickers apple salad. It’s nice to do that every once in a while and I got my fill that’s for sure.

That restocked the ole freezer real quick! We walked into Walmart this morning and as soon as we got to the meat section all I saw were yellow stickers. Our freezer is now pretty well stocked with lots of steak, some pork chops, and roasts. My wife thought I was nuts as I just kept piling meat in the cart, but we saved a bunch of money. Went to sams afterwards and bought a little more meat and was tempted to grab me another tomahawk, but will wait for another sale on those.

We scored again the same way this past week. Saw the same sea of yellow and dove for it. Lol. A little over $235 in a cart full of meat. Wife doesnt even balk since she's eating good too now. She just waits for a yes or no response from me and keeps filling. I hear ya on the cheat meal once in awhile. I've been 99% clean the last 2 weeks and knocked off 11#. Today I got hashbrowns with my breakfast, and had a peanut buster parfait from DQ. Now I'm satisfied. 😇
