Smoked a turkey for dinner tonight. Really liking the way these are turning out. Will have plenty left over as it’s just the four of us for dinner and I’m perfectly fine with that. What kind of smoker?

I’ve done my last two turkeys in my old masterbuilt electric. Gives it more smoke infusion than the pellet grill does. Smoked with some hickory and Jack Daniels wood chips. This one was covered in SPG and then some Cajun mix as well.

Fresh from the oven... bbq deer ribs! Couldn't use the electric smoker because of snow and rain today. I still haven't put the roof between my two outbuildings to be able to skin deer, squirrels, clean fish, or run the smoker and grill no matter the weather. Took 5 hours at 250° wrapped in foil. Once done, I slathered on bbq sauce and broiled to caramelize the sauce. This is going to be good!

I’ve got some family coming over for dinner so I’ve got a pork butt in the electric smoker and two racks of ribs on the pellet grill. Everything is just about done.

I have some deer butterfly backstraps marinating in Hoover Sauce for a few hours. They are hitting the frying pan with some olive oil in it in a bit after getting dipped in Louisiana Crispy Seafood Breading Mix (blue bag)

Used to dread trying to eat front legs. I always seemed to overcook and make them tough. With the baking first, they are tender and are even still tender if reheated in the oven! Broke out the fine China tonight. 🤣 I wish everyone a healthy, prosperous Happy New Year!

We had a nice spread to munch on last night for the holiday festivities. MIL made sloppy Joe's, beef stew, and a pan of mac and cheese with several different blends of cheese. I made a batch of meatballs and a stack of ribeyes. I found "elephant" garlic, which is just giant sized cloves. I pushed a big slice in each meatball and it really brought on the flavor. So dang good!

I can't say I cooked this up since I've been on the road for work but definitely some good grub. Hard to beat one of the pork chops from Patti's 1880's Settlement down at Grand Rivers KY: And then some Wiener schnitzel with Spaetzle and Red cabbage, meeting with a contractor in Evansville, at the Gerst Haus:

Looks like some good grub, HCG! For sure, the chow was great! Curious though, I asked the waitress about the "Seeds and Feeds" sign posted on the front window. She seemed a bit clueless and said she thought the place was some kind of farm store before the restaurant moved in around the year 2000. Any idea?
