Luke is taking care of the trout in esshups pond already. Even iced over with just a little opening on one end from an aerator doesn't stop him. Frozen hands and all, he keeps fishing! A sport second to none. And it's goooood fer ya. Bonus points to anyone who uses that on his videos.

I couldn't have Luke have all the fun yesterday, and I felt like having fish for dinner. Caught and released 2 more, a few Yellow Perch that were 13"-14", a few that were 6"-8" and 4-5 Bluegills that were between 6"-8". I think Luke caught a few too, I put 60 trout in the pond, we have taken out 7 so far.

Live from the fishing hole (this morning), but not fishing. Took the boat out to blow out the cobwebs and run the carb dry for winter. Couldn't really see much when I launched the boat. Navigated by Google Maps till I hit this section of the lake where I could see all the way to shore. Visibility was better than the pic. There is a flock of geese flying dead ahead of me that was visible to the eye, but the camera failed to pick them up it looks like. Took a couple full throttle passes and went back to the launch where I shut the fuel off and ran it dry. Had the boat about a year and a half and that was the first time I've had it at full throttle. 1977 heavy, fiberglass Ranger tri-hull won't run real fast even with the Johnson 115.

We are at our old nemesis, Trail Creek. Trying to drum up something. Luke caught a little stocker steelhead so far.
Meeting wife and MIL for Mexican tonight at Hacienda. Lucky for me, they have real good salads I can work on.
Hoping the weather holds out for Sat am. Heading up to the pier in St Joe, MI. They are catching steelhead pretty regularly now.

Luke ended up with 2 stockers. We never did see a single big fish in any of the holes or log jams we worked. Typically we at least scare something out. The water is low and crystal clear. Good time as usual.
Food was good. I enjoyed a few chips and salsa, and got a decent salad with chicken, and avacado ranch dressing.

You can't go wrong at HACIENDA. No sir, good eats. We thought they were closed at first! About 5 cars in entire lot. We were like, WTH, but we walked right in. By the time we left, everybody followed. Lol. Lucky to have just beat the rush apparently.

Tip from my MI contact. South pier at St Joe is temporarily closed. That's been the hotter spot too. But they did get one from the N pier today. So that will be our plan tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow, you will need it. "Wind from the East, fish bite the least." Personally I'd go deer or squirrel hunting vs fishing as I know how successful I would be tomorrow if I went fishing.

Well, he wrote back to stay off the north pier unless we have ice cleats. He said the algae coat is worse than a sheet of ice. Wife has cleats but too small, and we dont have any. So, we are gonna reevaluate our plans in the morning to see how everything looks.

I am pretty sure the ponds are thawed there too.

I got the “wiper swiper” back home from the marina yesterday morning. Running like a champ now and cost nearly half of what the original quote said it could’ve been. Now to start looking at stuff to get it rigged up as a fishing pontoon.

Momma let me open a early present so I can use it tomorrow. 13 Widow Maker for walleye fishing. That gives me two of those rods! Perfect, and thank you son Brian for pointing it out for her.

Now to start looking at stuff to get it rigged up as a fishing pontoon. What was wrong with it? Needed new power pack and timer base. He replaced the spark plugs as well. He figured carbs and water pump would need replaced because my parents let it sit for so long, but they were cleaned and he said they were good to go. He even sent me a video of him running it around near the Monroe lake dam.
