I picked up a Savage Axis early last spring, I only messed around with it a short time and put it away. I got it out today to dial in. To say I was impressed is an understatement. Man, that baby shoots! Very little recoil and holes touching at 100 yards.

I have the same gun and it does shoot very well. I’ve yet to kill a deer with it because it’s what my son totes around if he hunts. He has killed one with it and it dropped right there.

I got the package with the Bushnell scope,it seems like a decent scope? For the money, I am well satisfied so far.

I have a ruger in the 350 Legend and am very happy with it. I wish we had them back when I was 10 years old and using my dad’s 12 gage😀

Scope is okay just doesn't collect as much light as I like so I swapped mine. Plus didn't like the bdc reticle. The only complaints I have with the gun itself is I hate the shorter barrel. No other reason than I don't like the way it looks. Real issue is lord it's loud when it goes off.

Great caliber! It has killed several in our group.
I used a 357 maximum when the initial PCR started, and we killed TONS of deer with it. I used the heck out of it, loaned it out to buddies, and god children, and all did great. Only bringing this up because it is basically same ballistics just in a rimmed case.

Wonder how many are still using the 358 Hoosier they couldn’t make them fast enough at one time!

When my son got old enough to hunt I bought him a TC Contender with a MGM 357 maximum barrel. He started practicing with .38 specials then graduated to the .357 magnum and I worked him up a load with .357 maximum. Shot it really well and killed his first buck on opening day youth hunt. On to me. I built a 358 wssm on a Rem 700 action and it did great, killed many a deer with it and super impressed with it. I very rarely hunt public land anymore so I have various other rifles I use, I still have the wssm but now it collects dust (well up till last year and I got drawn for CSP and used it to take a buck) I’ll keep it till I don’t need it anymore.

I have Hornady American Whitetail 170 grains and Winchester Power Point 180 grains. It is a fine feeling, well balanced little rifle. Can't wait to take a deer with it.

I had to order mine twice through two different retailers and had quite the wait, but I got the Ruger with the 22" barrel because I didn't like the look of the 16" barrel. Just so you know, the extra 6 inches of barrel doesn't make it any quieter

I used Winchester 180 power points. I bought a couple boxes of I think 145 grain Winchester FMJ last spring ($12.99 a box) I dialed it in with 3 shots! I then switched to the power points, they grouped almost identically. Another good thing is 350 ammo has been by far the most available ammo I have seen.

Stock up if you find it cheaper.

I have an MGM barrel built for an Encore. It's been a great tool and killed a few deer on public land hunts. Hammers them deer flat

I'll be good for a while and may pick up more of whichever shoots the best between the 2 hunting rounds I have.

I'm using the 165gr hornady FTX handloads. They run a little slower than factory but they shoot flat and sub MOA.
I was not a fan of the performance of the federal power shocks and turned me off of soft points.

This is good to hear! I ordered a CMMG resolut 300 back in January and American Arms gun shop in Bloomington STILL does not have it in. 10 friggin months. I called CMMG and they said a max of 7 months and we’re going on 10. Turns out the gun shop ordered it through a distributor and not direct from CMMG so no telling how much longer it will be.. At least I have ordered online 200 rounds of ammo so I’m stocked whenever it comes in.

This is what my 350 legend is supposed to do. That 175-200 yard drop is more like 2 inches
