Buddy and I had a big Tom come in twice but hard to our left along the tree line. My blind is just inside the tree line and to brushy on that left side.....it has been cleared for a shot now, I actually crawled out into the field after the first time while he was still in the field...did a belly crawl in the wet goodness. Lol Anyways changed out my dekes. Took out the feeder and replaced it with a jake standing directly behind the other deke. He got interested after about an hour and came over thus making it the second time....we’re still at it but it’s been quiet. Might just hang out here for a bit them pack it up till tomorrow then my son will be joining us to make 3 in this blind but we don’t care we always have a great time. Tomorrow I’m setting the dekes up a little farther to our right as they seem to be hanging up at about 25 yds out.

I had 4 gobblers gobbling their heads off from 630 to 7am this morning. Then a deer winded me and snorted. Those gobblers shut up real quick and never heard them again. Had a single jake come in at 9am about 35 yds. He got a pass.

The short version of this story is I believe if I didn't have a lifetime license I wouldn't be a turkey hunter.
I took the long stroll around to the East side of the woodlot I have had the early talker the last 2 days. I checked the sign in sheet and saw that 2 guys hunted the area I had been yesterday afternoon and when I got to where I had planned to go I just couldn't do it. I set up in a clearing where the 3 service roads come together. At 6:12 I heard the first gobble about 300 yards East of where I had been hearing it Wednesday and Thursday. The bird I was targeting was not in the spot I had expected. He gobbled several more times then another one to my south east starts in. From the roost I end up hearing 6 different birds and I'm basically in the dead middle. One was on private ground across the road from my truck, one was in the pine stand about 200 yards north of my truck, one was bird B from yesterday about 300 yards north of me, the southeast bird, and bird A with his tag-a-long. After fly down I can only hear the twins and the SE bird and all 3 sounded like they are in the valley below me. After an hour or so all 3 start to close some distance. There for a bit I thought they were gonna race to me. Then I heard a sound that every farm kid would know in there sleep. It slowly got louder and then just shut down. CRAP! A few minutes later i hear it wind up and hold steady about 2/3 throttle. They started planting the field I had been hunting that comes within 50 yards of where I was. It would appear that turkeys have no love for a big New Holland pulling a bean drill.
My day was done. Thinking I should have gone fishing.

I've been working this bird for an hour and a half.... getting closer. I would’ve had to break out a fan and try a little stalking action after that long. Half right! I stuck a fan out of the blind window. Him and his hens were on the neighbors property going back and forth. He gobbled a few times is all. The hens went down into the ditch and he stayed on top. So I put the fan out the window. He couldn't stand the thought of his ladies coming over to another tom I suppose. He made his way down with them. One by one, the hens came out and made their way through the decoys. A fourth hen showed up to my right. No clue where she even came from! Once he came out of the ditch he could finally see my 1/4 jake and feeder hen. He marched straight past the hen, circled the jake once and then attacked him twice. After the second flogging, BOOM! Straight down he went. He didn't even flop once. Exciting hunt! The field behind my house is just that, field with no timber. So I used a buddies brand new, he just got it yesterday, Rhino 180 blind. Pretty comfortable sit really. I just got settled in about 40 minutes ago. I had to get him home and cleaned before it got dark on me. He's in checked in and in the freezer. Here is a pic of him and one of him laying next to the jake decoy and his gal pals in the background.

Congratulations!
I use the same decoy set up. 1/4 Strut Avian X Jake and a Avian X Feeder Hen.
I've killed a bunch over them.
Woodmaster has a "stuffer" Jake in about the same pose that is deadly too...
