Congrats to her.
We heard some gobbling on the roost this morning. Only gobbled for about 15 minutes and that was it. Was trying to pull them off private into Hoosier where we were hunting. Ended up walking a good ways around the area but never did get on any birds. Finally got tired of getting wet so we are back at the camper now. Son did find his first ever shed, so that was a plus.

Well she did it again. Awesome crossbow kill. Got video of him beating up the jake decoy trying to get at the lay down hen. Ran off just over a hill a little ways away. Unfortunately, the freaking coyotes got to it and tore it up pretty good. 11-1/8” beard and 1-3/8” Spurs. It was a whopper for sure. Honestly she thinks it’ll be cool to tell the kids at school about the coyotes getting it. imgur.com/a/HuaJt1E

Congrats to her. That is a dandy! That’s the first I’ve heard of coyotes getting a turkey before it is found. Doesn’t surprise me though.

When there is a $100 bill laying at your feet, I'm in. Lol. Two, I would be setting up immediately on the carcass or something else with a rifle and way laying those yotes! Congrats again, and with a crossbow! Not an easy accomplishment.

How long did it take you to get to it from the time you shot until u recovered it over the hill.

How long did it take you to get to it from the time you shot until u recovered it over the hill. It was about a half hour or so. Last year when I shot mine and it was flopping around I had two young ones come running across the field straight at it. They only got to within about a 150 yards but I was waiting to add them to the pile if they kept coming. Also, kinda weird because I hardly ever see them during deer season or get pictures on the cameras of them.

I was talking to a couple about their pond yesterday near Avilla and a coyote walked by through the woods not 50 yds away. Noonish.
I've lip squeaked a coyote in when turkey hunting one year, it got it's face rearranged by 2 oz of #6's at 15 yds.

To wake the page up... not hunting yet but scouting and trimming some spots out. Saw some tracks and scratching, but no birds seen or gobbles heard. Historically the best area we ever seen too. My buddy is hearing 20 some gobbles in the morning lately, so the birds are there. We did see a bunch out on the drive down there this morning, so it is finally cranking up.

Daphne and I just got back We checked 2 of the 3 joining farms and didn't find one turkey track anywhere. Not one turkey on camera either. I did find a small, dead buck though.

I always leave it up to my son if he wants to hunt and how long we stay out. It’s his hunt and I’m just along for the ride. I don’t push him at all. Saying all that he didn’t want to hunt this morning, so we got up and headed home from the camper. Gave me time to get a bunch of work done outside, like dropping 5 trees. He will probably still go out a few more times, but Wednesday through Friday is all for me as of now.
