As my son and I were heading out of the woods this morning we got asked if we found many mushrooms.
Lady, I can't find mushrooms at Walmart.

I know, they’re only pecker heads, but at least we’re going now. Left a few grays and yellows till another day, but glad to find some.

Finally a decent mess. My black spots never went, and we skipped most of the pecker heads and went right to grays and yellows. My woods is late, but this is unusual. Oh well, that’s mushrooms for you. Thankful to find these.

Great photo, she could be on the cover of a mushroom hunters magazine.

I still haven't found any yet this year. Last year I found one and didn't even bother picking it.

They came up really early this year due to the warm snap in early April, but then with the cold that came back in, they might be done. Last year, I found a bunch on a property on May 13th. I went out to the same property last Thursday and the big yellows that I found were already rotting. Weird year for weather so far.

Finally found a few this morning after the 3"+ rainfall yesterday hoping to put a few more away this week if it would ever warm up.

If I ever wind up on death row, and get a last meal, mushrooms and scrambled eggs will definitely be on the list. Eggs are the best after they swim around in some mushroom goo. I’ll pay for it tomorrow, but this was good.

On Monday afternoon I found the first morels of the season and figured like last year they will probably pop while I am in Ohio fishing.....they did.
My wife loves to hunt for them so she was left in charge AGAIN and once AGAIN she did well.

That new Nesco vac/sealer with that delicate setting is great for these mushrooms.

Never even looked this year. May have wondered into the woods just enough to stretch my legs

Went out on Sunday and found a couple of pounds of chanterelles. Fried them up and they don't taste too different from morels.

I have a bunch in the woods behind the house. Buddy is coming to pick them all on Friday. Last year he left with three Walmart bags full.
