Sitting here acid cleaning and RO system. It starts out a little volatile and then I sit and watch as we recirculate. That part can get boring, so it’s great to tap in at Hunt-Indiana Live Turkey and check in on the action. Next best thing to being out there!

Well, I didn't get him on camera like I wanted to. He closed the 400 yard gap too quickly. I had to move my camera out of the way to adjust to a different window. He gobbled and strutted the whole way across the field. I had already did some pre range finding and he stopped right at my 37 yard marker. He would cut me off every time I hit that Kaiser Kalls. I absolutely love the sound of it! He did too apparently. I do not have a measuring tape to measure the beard or spurs. But, he is a true limb hanger! I have been after a bird with hooks like these for a long while! I'll post more after a while. I had to try and steady my phone and get in position for the self timer on my camera. Team #3 is on the board!

Congrats to all the successful hunters! Seems like half of the forum regulars already have their bird down. We've got a bunch of really good turkey hunters here, myself certainly excluded..

First off...congrats to all you turkey slayers. Well done! Didnt see a bird yesterday. Heard some in the area but not on my property. Quiet again for me this morning. Im set up on a finger of field thats surrounded by woods on 3 sides. Sit quietly till 8. Hit the slate and get immediate gobble. Sounds close. I wait for awhile and he shows up strutting back and forth on the wooded hillside. Fairly certain he can see hen decoy and I know the can pinpoint calls so I stay quiet, gun ready. Eventually lose sight of him, wait a little longer, hit the call and sure enough he fires right back. Perhaps he thought the hen would follow him. So what say you? Should I wait him out, calling every half hour or so? Go completely silent? Very similar thing happened last year on an afternoon hunt...didnt get that bird.

He heard you call and knows "EXACTLY" where you are. The thing is in the turkey world the hen is supposed to go to the Tom. He may move off for a good while but if he don't find a hen to come to him, there is a great chance later in the day he will come back over to you. His curiosity is his down fall. It make take a while but he has all day to do his turkey stuff. Hope you have all day to do your turkey stuff. Patience and luck kills most of my birds.

Finally had a break in the rain and went slipping through the woods. Had one gobbling just up the hill from me. I set up so he'd walk down an old logging road right into my lap. Unfortunately he refused to come off his point, getting maybe 75 yards away. I never saw him, but we talked back and forth about a half hour before he gobbled his way away from me.
Hopefully he'll be there tomorrow. I'm going to work to save some vacation time.
