Trying to post some recent pics Couple small sauger and hybrid A few nice sauger I was sure a world record sauger. Hit a 3 inch swim bait Nice sauger and some crappie. The big crappie was 12 inches. Turkey day ditch pickle. I usually don't get too excited with bass but 21 inch bucket mouth had me pumped!

The next cast after the bass I had the twin to this one. It came off but I was glad. The spot I was fishing is not an easy place to land a fish.
Went back this evening and lost a walleye. Revamped my gear to help me tomorrow

But yes drum, sheepshead, PITA. Imagine my disappointment when I learned the locals meant drum when they told me the perch are biting great in the river on crawlers. I have eaten my fair share and they are pretty good, to my suprise.

Kids never caught any eyes but did end up with a few crappie. I ended up in the hospital with cellulitis in my leg. Will not be muzzle hunting or any fishing for me for awhile.

Took junior to Trail Creek in Mich City to try and catch steelhead. We were fishing in a couple of small, but deep holes with under cuts and logs. We caught a couple small stockers, and then I finally hooked a big steelhead. That sucker went upstream, shot under a log, and then downstream. I didnt even realize where it was, until it splashed and came up a couple times. About 11-12# I would say. Once I realized the line was wrapped back around the log, we knew there was no chance. I gained a foot or two, but it pulled back and finally snapped the line. Super excited! Junior (Luke) finally got to see what I was talking about when we hooked a big one. No stopping it! Here he is working a fly thru one of the holes. He has the process down pat now and is catching fish on his expertise now. Heck of a passion!

Lol I fished summer run back in the 90s for 2 years and never landed a steelhead out of that creek. Hooked a few but they are good at kicking butt.

I get them out of the river at my parents place but nowhere like it used to be. Had a stand that was actually over the river on 2 trees locked together. Would watch fish run up stream while deer hunting. Aboot every 10 minutes a fish would pass by. Now maybe one if your lucky, all day.
