Got pictures of a fox walking down the middle of the food plot the evening of 2-13. No tracks in the snow near any of the 4 sets I have out, which is a good thing. No pictures of any coyotes since 1-29.. They must have heard you were after them and cleared out.😁

I'm not throwing in the towel. Still have the trail cams and traps out. I won't let a 4 legged furball outsmart me! LOL

Greetings Almost no trapping over here by me nowadays, there is so many restrictions and the antis destroy the traps if they find them . Any trapping here is usually live cage traps. Would in not be as productive shooting at night with night vision, or is that not allowed over there? Night vision has certainly been a game changer for me Regards Billy

I need night vision goggles to use my night vision compatible EOTech HHS1 system. But I gave up on buying any night vision goggles due to the costs.

Well, I had a rather large black bird in the trap the other day, and since it's smell was all over the set (only 1 foot was caught), I put it about 10 feet from the trap and cut a piece of meat out of the breast and shoved it down the hole. Pulled some feathers and scattered them around the bird like an Owl might have hit it in the middle of the night and left it. Put a squirt of coyote urine on the backer and no lure. I have no idea why the bird was there, no bait outside the hole, nor know how it managed to spring the trap.
Today I had a VERY perturbed feral tomcat in the trap. Oh boy, he was growling and hissing at me when I got within 10 feet of the trap. This trap is 1/4 mile from my place and at least 1/3 to 1/2 mile from any other houses. I had it on the trail cam earlier in the month too. It's taking a long nap now.

Sightmark wraith over here is 599.00 pounds sterling just seen that today. Pard 007 add on around 450 pounds. The best ir torch is around 133.00 pounds sterling A lot of people use a thermal imager to spot with I don't I use a lamp i see its eyes then turn over to Night Vision I cannot justify the thousands of pounds for thermal for thre few foxes I shoot. Anyway that's about uk prices.

Optics Planet here has that for $499.97 with free S+H www.opticsplanet.com/sightmark-digital-riflescope.htmlPard 007 is bascally the same price. www.opticsplanet.com/pard-night-vision-4x-28x-riflescope-nv007-16mm.htmlThe IR illuminator? Prices are all over the board from $119.00 to $1,199.00. U.S. Dollars

Interesting . The pard 007 that i use likes the cheaper scopes, that is because the more expensive scopes have coatings on the lens that stops some of the ir light coming back through it. Mine works better on the rim fire and hornet than it does on the sako which has a Leopold scope on. The scope also has to have either side or front focus.(parralex adjustment) Just in case anyone thinks of trying one. Regards Billy.

The only complaints I have is I wish the IR illuminator had better range and the 1x zoom was actually 1x so I could scan a larger area. I may start using a light to scan so I can be lined up to shoot sooner.

Question: I know nothing about trapping but lately we have had several coyotes running thru the neighborhood at night. A couple neighbors have had them on their cameras and are concerned. Are there any traps for beginners that can easily be set up and taken down? Or any other tips to get rid of them?
Otherwise I might just try to pull an all-nighter with some bait out back and take one from the bedroom window with the crossbow.
