Thanks! Might cost more in fuel to get it than to buy new, where you located? I'm about 12 miles West of Plymouth, Indiana Wow you're way up there. I'm 5 miles north of Butlerville in Jennings county. yup, not as far North as some, but 30+ min and I'm in Michigan. Thanks for the offer though!

I'm 30 minutes from Kentucky. good luck trapping. Thanks. Good luck with the storm, hope you get the rain and not the ice. Neighbor texted me that he lost a trap at a dirt hole set. MB550, attached to a 21" Pogo (2" fender washer) cable stake. (sand ground - almost but not quite beach sand ground) Trap was as it came from the factory, no added chain etc. He couldn't see any prints, either 2 or 4 legged, no torn up catch circle. He was trapping private property that he has permission to trap on. Thoughts on what pulled it out?

Man, no animal is going to pull out a stake and not leave any sign of being caught.

He's got 10 traps out and nothing in them for a week, then one comes up missing.

Well poopie. I had a mole make a tunnel right in front of one of the traps at a dirt hole set. Coyote came in from the side and stepped right next to the trap to dig in the hole to sniff (bait is still there). Putting guide sticks at the sets now on a recommendation from a buddy. I re-baited the hole and refreshed the gland lure.
O.K. on the trap that was missing, he bought a crimp swager instead of hammering the aluminum crimp on the disposable stake closed. Just crimped the edge of the crimp, not the middle and the cable end pulled out of the crimp........

The missing trap, the most expensive mistakes are the ones you remember.

With a fresh 3"-4" snow on the ground it'll be hard to get a mole now. Great idea though and I know of a few runs that would be perfect for the trap. I have a few of the hoop traps.

Wish we still had a wolf season up here. Let dogs out this morning and everyone started raising hell with their hair standing on end. I took a walk around the edge of the yard and found a single set of wolf tracks. It visited the yard twice during december, was hoping it had moved on.

Single track? A loner looking for territory maybe? Only good thing about that is that it wasn't a whole pack.

They are more desperate for food and take chances that a pack would not. Im going to jump on the sled today and run some carcasses to the back 40 so he stays back there. Dont need him snatching one of my house dogs.

I made 5 gallons or so of waxed dirt so tomorrow I'll go remake the sets. Then the snow on Sunday can cover them up.

Absolutely nothing on the trail cams and nothing has been working the sets. Haven't seen any deer either on the trail cams, just turkeys and squirrels.
I'm going to clean out some old meat from the freezer and put that in front of the camera today before the storm hits. Then see if anybody shows up. I don't know where all the 4 legged critters disappeared to.
I refreshed the bait and scents at the dirt hole sets yesterday.

Saw 3 yotes in afternoon on way to work earlier in week. Saw 2 more today before noon.
Wife had one of her outside cats snatched. Was blood around, then found hair next day. She had something take off and stop when she went out to feed them, then come back towards her, so she came back to the house. Tracks were right size.
I am prepping for a sit or 2 this weekend.

Got pictures of a fox walking down the middle of the food plot the evening of 2-13. No tracks in the snow near any of the 4 sets I have out, which is a good thing. No pictures of any coyotes since 1-29..
