Last week my nephew was deer hunting and saw 3 different sets of deer. Every one of them were being dogged by coyotes. I decided to pull a couple traps out and try and reduce the population a little. Well one eliminated and a female at that.

schall53, what trap are you using and what type of set? Looking at the trail cam pics here behind the house there are numerous individual 'yotes and at least one pic that has 2 of them in the same picture. All coming thru at night.

I’m using MB 550 with offset jaws. Sets I’m using are regular dirt holes, a few squirts of coyote urine and Hawbaker coyote lure on the backing. A small bit of prepared paste bait in the hole. Traps are waxed and dyed and I wear gloves and hip boots to make the sets.

Another bites the dust. That make 3, and all have been females. That should put a dent in the population.

My fur buyer retired ,now I have to find a new one, that’s the problem.

Was that the one by Hudson Lake? No, he was between Bremen and Nappanee . It was a family deal, his dad was buying fur before I was born. He took it over about 40 years ago. The only people I ever sold fur to.

# 4 Another one bites the dust. This one is really dark colored, and another female. Man I hate to think what would be out there next year if I wasn't putting the hurt on these girls.
