Well I knocked another one down but I couldn’t find that dude for the life of me. So, I guess not count him. But, while I can I’ll shout a big Wahoo for Team 6! At least for now I can say we’re whipping up on the Limb Chicken Brigade!

Chalk up 3 more for team 3. I dropped another 1 that took of through the brush after it hit the ground and knocked another 1 at least part way down,it kept hitting and grabbing onto the limbs as it came down but there were 2 or 3 other ones running around at the same time so I was concentrating on those and not sure if it ever came all the way down or not. After I got 2 that I'd dropped out of there I was looking around for the 3rd and I'll be but another 1 came through the trees and got in the 1 I was standing by. I backed up to see him and when I did I shot and hit the limb and while I was trying to get another shot I saw at least 1 more maybe 2 running around up there too. There were so many running around so fast I couldn't keep up with them so I'm not sure how many was up there. They were in a group of 3 hickory trees just 30 yards from another group of hickories that I got my first one in. Check out the all black belly on the middle 1,44 years of hunting them and the first partial black 1 I've gotten,I use to see them in town regularly when I lived there but never in the country.

Bark, bark, bark... POP!!! This dude apparently thought I was a little too close for comfort and felt it was her duty to alert the whole forest. So, I slowly braced against the tree and put the dot on the lil redhead's neck about 10 yards away. A gentle squeeze of the LITE trigger and she was history. No doubt, this is the most accurate handgun I've ever toted in the squirrel woods (as long as the range is 10-15 yards)! This is the bushytail from the morning taken with the 20 gauge this morning: HCG from Team 6 with 2 for today!

Add 2 to team 3. Found five in a large oak tree. Two didn't make it out thanks to a smooth handling 20 ga. Over and under.

Put me down for another black. I think I need to wait on these to get their winter fur. Had my class reunion last Saturday and a classmate lives about an hour away and is overloaded with blacks and I can come get em whenever I want. Exciting!!!

Check on how much they cost to get stuffed. I did and decided that it was more than I wanted to spend.

A few years ago when I had a black squirrel in the freezer I was quoted $350. I had the bright idea to get a nice piece of a tree, and have the 4 varieties of squirrel mounted. Black, Grey, Fox and Piney. At that price tag for each, the idea was quickly shelved.

I was offered up by one for 150 and another at cost. Thinking about getting a tree trunk to go floor to ceiling in the man cave and putting squirrels on it. I only have the hides I've done myself so far.

5 grays for Team 6. All were cutting the same shagbark except for the first one and it wasn't 30 yards from where I got the rest. Love that Marlin in 17 Mach 2! Headshots for all!

This morning I managed to bag 3 squirrels with my Winchester model 69A equipped with a vintage Weaver J4 scope. Team 4 is now on the scoreboard.
