I am going to switch over to the HMR for longer shots now. Could have gotten two more Saturday morning if I had been packing it instead of the Mach 2.
But that spot was covered up in squirrels during bow season, but only saw three there Saturday.

I was hoping for a more productive day. Turns out I only saw 1 and he met up with my Remington Nylon 66 from ~18 yards! Score one more for Team 6!

Add three more to team 1. This is from last Wednesday...going forward they might be muskrats with the rain we're getting.

My apologies to team#1. I only made it out twice this year. Beginning of season and yesterday. I went through all of my woods (excluding the sanctuary) and only seen one squirrel. He was on the ground running and presented no shot.

Please add 5 more for Team 6. Finally got back out on the last day. Not been "out" for two weeks. Had flu b for 5 days and then a runny nose and occasional cough, so I decided not to go hunting any. EDIT: looking back on my posts, I had not been out hunting since December 30th!! Most of that was because of my daughter's basketball games and weather. Got to the woods at 1:35 this afternoon and shot my last one at 2:36. 4 fox and 1 gray. Used the HMR this time and scored 3 long ones just short of 80 yards. My personal total for this year was 63.

Dang, good shooting!!! I need someone like you to thin them out here. My 2 Marlin 17's make me look good. The HMR was bought first and I just did some stock removal and trigger tuning to it. The Mach 2 I didn't have to do anything to at all. They are both literal tack drivers and the HMR will knock out thumb tacks at 100 yards every shot. But I find myself shaking more than I used to, so I use the Lead Sled at the range to sight in and check them after cleaning and refouling the barrel. They are both just super easy to drive.
