Glad you were able to get some things accomplished while you were here. Good luck when you come back this season.

I set up a mock scrape yesterday and hung an oak branch over it. I got a perfect picture this evening of a decent 8pt already using it.

I put a two man stand down by the creek tonight. That was a chore and a half. I’m staying out of the woods still, but that spot is a mostly open floodplain that deer mostly just pass through on occasion, so I don’t think I messed anything up. I’ve been down there planting trees anyway.
I can hunt that spot on a west wind, and I’m short on stands with good access to hunt in the AM on a west wind.

I had a tree come down within the past couple days that had my two-man stand in it. I hadn't planned on hunting this year since I sort of ran out of time to relocate it. I knew the tree was unsafe and really felt nervous about even climbing up there to remove straps. It seems mother nature gave me a little help. I'm not really sure what happened to this tree but, it died FAST!

I took a leaf bower and cleared trails down to the blind and stand behind the house. Also cleared off what’s there of my little food plot as it didn’t grow too well this year.

I’m sick of these droughts, every year I decide that I’m gonna do a foodplot we get a drought. My pumpkins plants look miserable. Grrrr

They will stomp and smash the pumpkins and just gobble them up. Usually late season when the pumpkins are soft Makes for a really good late season hunt when it’s super cold. And you haven’t tagged

At least our deer do. We had vines right up against the garage and house this year. They ate every leaf and every pumpkin that was growing.

Was it in the Red OaK family? Yes, it was. Then I'd suspect Oak Wilt Disease. It kills trees within a few months of leafing out.

Finally something on camera to consider. They started cutting corn next to one of my stands and I was getting pictures all night.
