Biggest issue here was from the drifting and the bitter cold. MIL trailer had frozen pipes. The snow fall itself wasn't bad...the wind and the drifting it what gets us here. We can get 4" of snow but with sufficient winds from the proper direction and we will get 2 foot snow drifts across the roads. I'm just glad we didn't loose power. I see they are calling for real cold again by the weekend and into next week.... Yep, even colder than this cold snap is what they are predicting. I had -11°F this morning and it only warmed up to 10.8°F today. I dodged a bullet today, ran some water in the sink and it seemed to run slow. I have an unheated crawlspace (furnace ducts run there though) and the bladder tanks for the well are in an outbuilding, below ground. I close off that area where the bladder tanks are with insulation and have a ceramic heater that is controlled by a low temp t-stat. On at 32, off at 50. Either the heater wasn't turning on, or the pipes were starting to freeze in the crawlspace. I heat with wood as much as I can and the furnace doesn't run much. I made sure the heater by the bladder tanks was working, and I ran the furnace to put some heat in the crawlspace. Whatever I did worked before the pipes froze up completely. I just got lucky I think.

Thankfully all my stuff is in my basement which is somewhat heated...It's not exactly warm down there, but it's well above freezing. My biggest issue is power loss. We live out far enough that we are very low on the priority list when there is a power outage. Gas furnace and well won't run without power...
