The only thing predictable about a turkey is that they are unpredictable. About the time you think you may have them figured out, they do the total opposite.

I'm set up at a different sopt this afternoon. Hen decoy out and a gobbler fired up couple hundred yards east of me. Although he's talking, I'm still not holding my breath. Like Schall said, turkeys are consistently inconsistent.

I don't normally turkey hunt but decided to get out this afternoon just for a change of scenery.... decided to sit in my cane reed deer blind and ended up seeing 3 long beards, a bearded hen and a hen. Bearded hen came close enough to bonk her over the head with my barrel.... I let the Tom get close enough the shell wad hit him with the shot.

Debating on decoy setup for tomorrow. I have an upright hen, feeder hen and a Tom. Can't decide if I want to go single hen, both hens or all 3. Last time I had a Tom hang up on the 2 hens.

I'm a duck hunter. Lol More the better. I never use just hen decoy alone. I have had to many birds hang up on them. I use a single jake, a single tom, or a jake and hen, or a Tom and hen. Good luck either way.

If you dont get a bird in the morning, let me know, and I will get my decoy to you by the afternoon. Somebody might as well be using it since I lucked out right away.

My KY hunt ended early and unsuccessfully. I got set up at 4:50 am about 50 yards from the roost. Gobbler started talking an hour later. Had a group of deer come within 30 yards and a hen within 25 yards in the meantime. I was sitting against a pin oak so I guess the camo did its job. Gobbler and I conversed for over an hour. Then dead quiet. I stayed another hour plus and called it a hunt. Can't wait to hunt deer on this property next season. Also had sand hill cranes on the property and the owners don't like them. So I may try to hunt them next season. Their nickname is ribeye in the sky. Pretty funny Does Kentucky have a season for Sandhills? I've never looked into it there? Yes. We were reading about it on the way home. It is very limited though

Absolutely no gobbling this morning. Hens going crazy cutting and yelping. One hen came and hung out with my decoys for a bit now she's on the move. May end up in the ghillie suit after a while.
