Called it day. Going back in the morning. Pretty sure I have the roost located. I’ll see. Plan on getting there extra early. Thank goodness I am on Central time here. Makes the early mornings easy Good luck

imgur.com/gallery/C1XmqvtI wish I knew how to just post a pic instead of a link. The top two were taken this am today. The bottom pic was taken at least a month ago if not february. The farmer put his cattle out in that field and the turkeys hadn't been back. I watched them distant further and further from that pasture days after till gone. When you post from imgur use the link that starts with img.imgur.com and your picture will show up in the post.

About 20 minutes ago coming from bloomfield to bloomington I seen a big ol strutting tom out in a grassy field. About 1pm on the dot.

I been seeing some here and there then the next day nothing. Today I seen two lone hens browsing a freshly planted field. Was about 9:30am. Anyone hunting afternoon evenings? I've always hunted mornings. Hoping to get out this weekend. Work has me spread thin between shelbyville and bloomfield, very tempting though to get up extra early to stop at morgan monroe on my way to bfield. Since Indiana went to all day, I've killed exactly one bird before noon. Every bird I've killed or called in for guys has been after 2. Two latest were 7 and 7:30 pm. I hunt mornings but don't put much faith in it anymore. You get one to answer you after noon or so, it's a killable bird.

Haven't been out yet and don't know if I'll make it. Guys here at work are saying the same thing, birds have been tight lipped. I usually see several dozen birds on my route home from work, but have seen 1 bird in 2 weeks.

My KY hunt ended early and unsuccessfully. I got set up at 4:50 am about 50 yards from the roost. Gobbler started talking an hour later. Had a group of deer come within 30 yards and a hen within 25 yards in the meantime. I was sitting against a pin oak so I guess the camo did its job. Gobbler and I conversed for over an hour. Then dead quiet. I stayed another hour plus and called it a hunt. Can't wait to hunt deer on this property next season. Also had sand hill cranes on the property and the owners don't like them. So I may try to hunt them next season. Their nickname is ribeye in the sky. Pretty funny

Worked two yesterday got one close enough but my son couldn't get on him in time, went out this morning and the woods were dead, saw two strutters but couldn't get to them without spooking them so they are saved for another day. My son has to go back to work so I get to catch up on my chores.

Had a tom gobbling deep in the woods at 2:30pm this afternoon. There is hope for the morning Wish you the best of luck in morning. It's been a strange year. I had the same thing yesterday. Bird gobbled several times at 230 to 3. Came here this morning and not a single word out of him. Back this afternoon and it's been a repeat of this morning.
