Well no credit card hit from Arizona, which means I did not draw a tag there.
I am now hanging my bull elk hopes on New Mexico. I applied for a December muzzleloader tag there with draw odds of about 19%. It's a short 5-day season, so if I'm lucky enough to draw I'll probably add an AZ Coues deer tag to that trip since I already have an AZ hunting license. If I do not draw that tag then that will likely mean I'm hunting deer and possibly pronghorn only this year, unless I decide to do something OTC.

I put in my MT deer application this morning. Hoping to draw with one point. Might hunt the Missouri River Breaks country if successful. What county? North or south of hwy 200?

I've been looking at north of 200 there in Garfield County. Also been thinking about trying around Terry or Ekalaka though. Being as how that tag is valid across most of the state, it's been tough pin down a definite spot so far.

I have hunted on the west and east side of the Musselshell river in Petroleum and Garfield county. Good area with lots of public land. I have 20 acres on the river and it butts up to public land in both counties. If you need a place to stay while in the area ,we always stay at the Hill Ranch Oasis.

In the middle of a lull here in draw results. Still 2-3 weeks from results in MT and NM.
If unsuccessful in NM, I'm thinking about throwing Kansas in the mix. I could probably draw a September ML tag, then if unsuccessful return during their regular firearms season in December. The way their draw works, you must draw a whitetail tag, then you're entered for a mule deer permit. So you've gotta be OK with possibly being limited to whitetails only, which is fine by me.

Just dropped my CO packet. Should draw a deer tag and hopefully a leftover B tag. The elk draw is a super long shot (like everybody would have to forget about the deadline long) so it will be a 2nd season rifle tag for me. Monday is the draw for a special license in IL I put in for.....fingers crossed on that one although I have been told the odds are good. Other than that I will just have an IN gun hunt and a trip to England in SEP.

Well, New Mexico results are out and I was unsuccessful. My odds were only about 19-20%, so not real surprised. Puts the nail in the coffin for me for an elk tag this year.
The Montana deer draw is supposed to be next week, that's the only app I've got out right now.
As soon as the New Mexico refund is deposited in my account, I'll be sending it to Kansas for a deer tag. Should definitely draw a Whitetail tag there, about 50% chance at a mule deer permit.

Huge sigh of relief.. BIL and I drew our MT deer tags! First successful draw of the year. I was worried about this one a bit after all the attention MT has been getting for its deer hunting lately.
I'm watching for my NM refund so I can redirect that to KS NLT Friday, hopefully just keep the ball rolling with another tag.

Sent my New Mexico refund over to Kansas. Hoping for a mule deer permit, but will be happy with a whitetail tag! Applied for their muzzleloader season, which runs in September and December.

I’d like to hunt MT someday but tags seem overpriced to me but in the same breath I payed a small fortune to hunt the rock glad I did cause getting a bou tag now is hard and very costly

Purchased my tag today for my bear hunt. Coming right up in about 2.5 weeks!
Got everything major lined out, still have to sort through some minor details on transportation/etc.

What kind of deer are you going for

What kind of deer are you going for Coues in Arizona. You have to choose which species to apply for, and most guys want to hunt mule deer, which makes most Coues tags very easy to draw.

I’ve heard that before they sure got some nice mule deer but I’m like you I just want a tag to go hunt.
From what I’ve seen on tv they sure look they live in some rough county
Being that late is that a ML hunt

The deer down there rut in January, so it's actually considered an early hunt. I did it in 2017 and saw some bucks but never got a shot.

I did draw my whitetail tag for Kansas. Still yet to hear on the mule deer permit there.
I couldn't help myself, I also applied for 2 pronghorn doe tags in Wyoming. Odds on those were 40-50% last year.
