With the dieoff in Wyoming, I'd pray that you don't get pulled. My cousin said it would take a few years to get the animals back. He's worried that the majority of the trophy critters are gone. He will know more towards late Summer, but he told me to buy preference points for the next few years there in Wy.

I got my first Iowa deer preference point today. It will probably be 4 or 5 years before I can draw there.
Wyoming elk results will be out sometime next week. Hoping for two tags!

I drew cow elk in Wyoming again!
Unsuccessful on my bull tag application.
At least I'll be getting a fat refund to put towards some other expenses.

No Colorado deer tag for me. I applied for Wyoming deer and pronghorn yesterday, more long-shot applications.

I got lucky and drew a deer tag in Wyoming. No pronghorn tags.
I also applied for South Dakota deer and Arizona deer, very low probability I draw either though.

Struck out in Wyoming for both Deer and antelope. My cousin, who lives in Casper, WY said not to bother applying for a few years. It'll take the herd that long to bounce back and for the bigger bucks to regain their antler/horn size.

Unsuccessful for deer in both Arizona and South Dakota - not surprised though, both were longshots.
Also, I may be crazy for doing this, but I applied for two additional cow elk tags in Wyoming for the leftover draw.

Struckout everywhere, also went for the gusto with the low odds anyway. Time to start getting in shape for Colorado elk next fall. Started practicing at 70 yards, its a very humbling experience.

I drew both leftover cow tags I applied for in Wyoming!
Final tag count for this year is:
-Kansas Whitetail, September Hunt
-Wyoming Mule Deer, Cow Elk x3, October Hunt
-Arizona Bull Elk, December Hunt
Whitetail at home, of course.
I better start making some space in my freezer.

The one in my profile pic was Kansas and the velvet was in the process of peeling.
