I applied for another elk tag in the Wyoming leftover draw, as well as deer and elk tags in the Colorado secondary draw. Very slim odds I'll draw any of those though.
South Dakota deer results should be out soon! It was this week last year.

I drew my South Dakota deer tag! Burned 5 points. Same tag ukwil had last year, southern edge of the Black Hills and stretches into the plains. |

My son in law drew a Michigan cow elk tag for this year after many years of applying. This is a big deal, you can't get another one for ten years min. If you are successful in drawing the bull elk tag, it's a once in lifetime deal.
Odds of success are near 100%, so he should get the family a bunch of good meat.

No luck in the Wyoming leftover draw or the Colorado secondary draw.
Drawings are done for me now. I wound up with tags for cow elk, buck deer, antlerless deer, and pronghorn doe in Wyoming, as well as my buck deer tag in South Dakota.
I might end up buying another Colorado bear tag for September, even considering an OTC archery elk tag to go with it. Haven't fully decided yet.

How many preference points do you have? 9 Good luck, I hope you can draw in the area that you want. A buddy and I are maxed out on elk points, we started buying the first year they were offered. We will go one of these years, but it will be either a guided hunt or my cousin will be doing the scouting before the season for us. Our biggest concern after finding one is getting it out. |

I got lucky and drew Arizona elk! Same tag I had a couple years ago. It will be nice to go in with a little experience and a game plan ready.
Now I have to decide whether or not to apply in New Mexico. I might go ahead and just apply for some of the very best tags and hope to get lucky.

New Mexico apps submitted - elk, deer, javelina. Javelina would be a 2024 hunt, got about 30% odds on that one. Low odds for elk or deer, but you never know!

Wyoming apps in, slim odds but fingers crossed! Buffalo there and South Dakota as well, because why not.

I applied for a CO deer tag. Only 27% at my point level drew last year, so slim chance. Points for elk/antelope/moose.

Also dropped my CO app yesterday. Put in for doe 2nd choice, buck 3rd and a 2nd choice cow tag to accompany OTC tag. Sent in the IL draw app last week as well. We'll see what happens. Good luck to all!!

Found out last week that I did draw for the limited IL disabled vet hunt....so IN and IL as well as CO for me this year again.

I put in my Kansas deer application today. Should be a lock with 2 points.
About 3 more weeks until Wyoming elk results.
