7x. With that in mind I have a twentyfive year lease. I first had a ten year lease when that expired I set it up for another 25 years. If something happens I will adjust and start over. This lease was set up by our lawyers. Sounds like you've thought enough in advance to keep it in your grasp.

Wow ! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) I has no idea how lucky we are in my area ! .... We hunt some goverment land that has a pheasant release program .... Conestogo Lake offers 7 hunting areas totalling 930 hectares, ( not sure how many acres that is ? ) ..... it cost's me $200 CND to buy a licence to hunt there ..... I can hunt released pheasants , native rabbits , fox , coyote , waterfowl , grouse and deer as well . We hunt another provincial area for free .... Hullet Marsh whick is approx 6000 acres ( not sure how many hectares that is ? ) You can hunt waterfowl , upland game and pheasants .... We hunt approx 15 private farms totalling approx 1500 acres .... We don't pay any lease , but we do pay in sweat ! We trap racoons , shoot pigeons , and ground hogs , trap and tear out beaver dams , help during harvest time ..... anything from driving tractors to helping repair equipment ..... We share our harvest with every farmer and bring along baked goods during the holidays etc. Most of the farmers have become personal friends over the years and it is through hard work that we maintain the relationship and the privledge to hunt on their properties ..... I guess when you add up all the time etc. it does amount to money $$$ but it just doesn't seem like it .... Usually the only way we lose a farm is if it changes hands and the new owner doesn't alow hunting for what ever reason ( usually some city folk moving out to hobby farm ) . I'm very lucky to have the land I do to hunt on .... I take the responsibility very seriously and work hard at maintaining a good reputaion amoungst the farmers , which has led to other farms opening up to us in the past ..... Will we have to lease in the future ? It dosen't seem that way right now , but I have heard rumors of local waterfowl outfitters leasing land further south of us and it could spread ? ..... time will tell ?
