Got my 3.8 acres of CRP planted yesterday. Used the no-till drill from the SCS office and followed their advice for settings...ended up running over the whole plot three times and still had some seed left Of course it also showered on me several times while trying to get it planted-got too greasy twice so I'd wait about an hour and go back at it again. I also sprayed down a small patch, maybe 1/2 acre of some creek bottom ground that I'm planning on using any extra soybean seed my cousin has left over after he replants his "pond areas"... I will have drilled over 150 acres WSG this year when done waiting on dry now have 5 acres left on 73 acres in Jefferson co. then on to Switzerland co foe 37 acres have used Truex ,Great Plaines 706,and 606 and a Sukup 5 footer one thing common to all is seed left over even with drill set perfect with the NRCS seed calculator asking for say 5.379 grass and 2.507 oz forbs per acre on some plans I have seen, Go figure ..Seed Suppliers Make a huge difference also I had to drill over 10 lbs per acre to get 5 1/2 pls per acre one time, Tom Applegate up by you supplies the best as far as I am concerned he is near you at Brook In.

Side dressed my 3 acre plot of corn with fertilizer tonight. It's looking good and the rain ought to get the fertilizer right to work. Also freshened up mineral lick's as deer are tearing them up right now. Taking off work Friday to mow hay all day. Have 1500 square bales and 50 round bales so far, which put's me about half done. Look's like a good dry spell beginning Friday so gonna get all my first cutting done and help neighbor get his all cut.

Well I got down to our place this past weekend. Looks like the WTI Chicory plus is doing ok. The clover is starting to come up real nice but the chicory isn't really doing much so I figure it will either come up later in the year or be a bust either way I am not to upset because the clover is doing so well.
The issue I am having is I have checked a few of the mineral sites I have been trying to establish and I am not hardly seeing any activity. I am gonna give it a couple more weeks and then I may consider trying a couple different spots.
Other then that everthing is looking good. I put out a couple cameras to see what I have running around.

Could use some rain, but all thing's considered all plot's and fields are doing well. Picked first batch of raspberries last night. Look's like there will be bumper crop's of them and blackberries just starting to come on. Race is on for me to get them before bird's and deer find them as well.

I need to check my spots this weekend for rasberries I planted two little raspberry bushes that I transplanted from a friends patch 3 years ago. The first year they grew quite large but produced no berries. Last year they produced several berries , but a mocking bird built a nest right next to them in a tree and pretty well wiped all my berries out in a single day. This year the same bird I guess built another nest in the exact same spot that I tore down before she laid any eggs and so far this year I have picked almost 3 gallons and still have many that will ripen. I'm saving them up for a big batch of jelly.

Its like there is a dome over Ohio Co. No rain yet again, creek has run dry. I hear you...I live in Clark County and we've had a whopping .60 inches of rain in the last 30 days.....The farmer behind me put in 30 acres of beans last weekend and zip for rain. Hopefully we'll get some this evening...... If this keeps up, food plots are going to die and EHD is going to rear it's ugly head again.....

I was looking at the forcast for this week and I would hope that we will get some rain this week. It has seemed like Ohio Co. has been under a dome thats for sure.
