Well WOODY what's the word? All of us here at HUNTING INDIANA are waiting for the latest update on your bowl movements. No significant blood in the last 20 hours. Just passed some residual blood and that is good. Blood count (gets drawn every 8 hours) is a little low but the doc thinks some of that is due to the amount on intravenous fluids they are giving me. He had them cut that way back. That is good as I won't have to get up and whiz every hour on the hour. It is still a wait and see game. No more blood and my blood count goes back up I could go home late today. If I start bleeding profusely again they will try to do a "blood screen" in that they will use a radioactive dye in me to try and pin point the spot of bleeding.he is putting me back on a regular diet. This semi-liquid diet ain't too great. I haven't had Cream of Wheat in 50 years but it was the most solid thing that they had that I could eat. So, it is a wait and see game.. I appreciate everyone's concern. Anyone hear anything at all on Dennis aka Jon Snow? I have his cell phone number but don't know whether I should call or not.

Doc just came in and said my blood count was back up pretty decent and since I have had no significant blood in the past 24 hours he is sending me home. They can't do the blood scan if I am not bleeding. If I start again we will be back for the scan.
Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts...
May God bless each and every one of you..

Glad they are cutting you loose, it is still kind of disconcerting that they haven't found where you are bleeding. I will keep the prayers going. Good luck

Glad they are cutting you loose, it is still kind of disconcerting that they haven't found where you are bleeding. I will keep the prayers going. Good luck Yes it is discouraging. The blood scan has to be when you are actively bleeding. I had three of those active bleedings yesterday morning. Two at home and one in ER before I got to see the colo-rectal surgeon. After that it was only residual blood and not much of that. He said I could bleed like that again tomorrow or might not for years. He also said that there is nothing I can do to prevent it or make it happen. Luck of the draw I guess. Thanks for your prayers..

I don't want to cause any undo concern. This past spring we lost a 44 year old friend to mysterious bleeding much like you are having. In the end, they came to the conclusion that he suffered from liver failure. His case was different due to his extensive alcohol use, but hopefully the doctors are looking into your liver functions as well.
Get better young man. All of our lives better because you are in them.

We are pretty sure that this is diverticulosis that had a vein pop in it. I have more than one so it would be a crap shoot to go in an cauterize one or two. Thanks for the "young man" compliment.

Hope both of you recover from this very soon. Sounds pretty minor and easy to fix once they find the source.
Looks like these thing sometimes happen in threes. Maybe I'm the third one? Going in on the 8th for a double scope job. One up the butt and one down my esophagus. Try to locate so.leakage or he's they think is caused by a bacteria I picked up from some tainted water or food. Said I could have been carrying it since my Alaska pack in hunt in 2001??? Anyway, probably looking at some more surgery on my guts. The last time I had 4"of bowl removed and spliced back together.

Bummer Tom...... Yes, I'd say that sounds a lot more serious than mine. Whacking several inches of colon out is very major. Best of luck and prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for you. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I
