Yup, and I'm one of those who enjoy the shows a lot, just like I do with all my favorite fishin shows. Gets my kids interested in the outdoors too.

Yes, my whole family enjoys Roadtrips and all other hunting shows. Something to do in the off season and something to get you pumped up for season. I don't understand why everyone is putting negative comments. Jealous ? Who cares what it scores, 170" or 100". It's an awesome deer.

So what do you think he does with all these deer. I am sure the meat he donates but what about the racks. He shoots probably 10-15 130 plus deer a year. He would surely only mount like 170-180 or bigger. If not he would need a warehouse to store them all.

First let me say nice deer..but how and why is evryone getting so worked up over it.I mean you've got some tv personality that comes in to an area to hunt and low and behold he kills some monster buck and this is done over and over again on every tv show that you watch. I have been a deer hunter for over 47 years now and I've seen these kills more and more often especially here in the later years where everything is shown on tv. If you think these guys are a better hunter than you then you've got another thing coming,it's just that they might have more backing from sponsers,tv shows,etc...now if some JOE BLOW killed that deer then I'd be worked up over it but for this guy....sorry I just can't get into it !!!!!!!

.....least he isn't shoveling his money to Illinois..... I don't think it was HIS money that paid for this hunt and I'm real sure that he went to Illinois to. On the latest Realtree Moster Buck video a guy killed a 160" buck in Posey county with Rivers bend outfitters. Bill Jordan comments on the video was "when you think about big bucks you usually dont think about Indiana BUT Indiana does have some big bucks" Absolutely my point, Jordan knows IN has some big bucks. These guys normally will put a red x on a state with 32 days of firearms starting in mid november, because they know there is little to no chance of getting a shot at a mature buck for film. Just like the best of us usually only get a shot on good IN ground once every year, if that. We don't have any big leasing worries.

There was an episode a while back where he showed his house in GA, and he kept just a handful of mounts, just ones that were extra special. I'm guessing the outfitters keep a lot of them to display.

Take a 170 on public land then you have something to really brag about. Sorry guys but I am with TrapperDave and Birddog on this one.

170 on public land would certainly be something to brag about! However I gotta applaud the man for getting it done - great deer and with his bow.

hes not a hunter, just a killer Oh, I think that man is probably a pretty good hunter.. BUT he has turned from hunter to entertainer. The "hunting videos" are entertainment, period. He does not have the time to actually go hunt. Time is money in his game. His set ups are that he is in and out of a place in matter of days. The quicker the kill the better. The "outfitters" actually do his scouting/hunting for him and he comes in, probably sits a prepared stand and arrows/shoots a deer. Not bad work, if one can get it. The more outgoing and personable the "celebrity hunter" is the more "work" he/she gets. It IS ENTERTAINMENT..

I was refering more to his shooting deer after deer just to add to his tally. I was brought up to not shoot anything I wasnt going to eat, period
therein lies my problem(albeit a small one) with the whole donating a deer thing, makes me wonder who's doin it for the right reasons, who's doin it cause they like to kill.
I love hunting...but not the killing. I always feal a bit of remorse when i take an animal, but its the circle of life. I always give thanks to the animal and God for providing for my family.
If I didnt eat venison, I would not hunt deer.
Too many now days ONLY care about the horns on the wall. IMO

I don't think it's all about the horns on the wall..Like I said I've deer hunted now close to 50 years and each year I see deer killed that I personnally wouldn't even consider shooting, just the other day I saw a guy that had 5 in his truck bed and 3 of them couldn't have weighed 50 lbs. each.I think it more a kill, kill kill thing than anything else. So far this year from bow hunting thru gun season so far I've passed up more deer than you could imagine,if I don't kill one no big deal to me but for some they have got to kill the first thing that walks in front of them...that I don't believe in!!!!!

I have no problems with anybody the hunts, kills and helps manage the population. Hunters are killers, regardless of what anyone thinks. Doe numbers in certain areas of this state are out of control and still some people refuse to kill them.
I kill animals and what I don't eat is donated to individuals who appreciate the meat, I am a killer. Please help me in my quest.

I've read a lot of negative things about Waddell, Lakosky, Kisky and a few other [glow=red,2,300]HUNTERS[/glow] on this forum and other forums.
Sure they get special treatment when hunting with an outfitters. Sure they get free gear. Sure they get to hunt all the time but to say they aren't hunters is WRONG. All of these guys started out as hunters and became video "stars" later.
Do you really think that they got their start in the business because they where average hunters? I'm sure they wouldn't consistently kill the big bucks they do on public ground. But who does? Not too many people.
Look in the mirror and ask yourself are you good enough hunter to put the bucks down that they put down year after year? I'm not talking about the 115-130". I'm sure most of us would have no problem killing those in the places they hunt but I'm talking about MATURE bucks.
O'by the way, do it with a camera man. (twice the scent, twice the movement) You can't shoot the last 20 minutes in the evening (no light for the camera). Make sure the camera man has the buck framed up or you can't shoot. Raining? Probably can't hunt. Don't forget to hang 2 stands for filming.
Unless you've walked in their shoes how about taking it for what it is and not bashing the guys who represent our sport on national T.V.

I have video'ed deer hunts, just doe harvests and small buck encounters to date. I'm not talking you $500 or $1000 camera from Best Buy but your $500 tree arm and $2500 camera, same as they use but most of them have and use the same model just an HD model. It isn't easy at all!!! Plus as Woodmaster said, you have 2 people, 2 scent issues potentially, 2 people moving and getting on the same page as the camera man and oh yeah the weather. Doing what they do a feat in itself, let alone doing it on big bucks! I have been successful several times now with turkeys and that isn't easy it is hard work too. These folks were good hunters prior to becoming what they are now. Waddell is a nice guy met him at the ATA show this past year and he is down to earth, he has just got a career doing what we love and oh by the way, they are supporting and representing our sport to the public for the good of all of us. Sure there is good and bad things they do, bad being the promotion of products, but that is there job. That is who pays them to do what they do, just as your employer does for you, the same thing. That is all just my opinion.....they are us and they have been fortunate.

I could care less where these pro hunters hunt or how big a buck they shoot. I personally got tired of watching the same thing over and over. I much rather see pictures of someones son or daughter posing with their first deer than watch 30 minutes of deer porn. h.h.

So all of you that dont think his buck scores 176...have you ever killed a 176" buck?? Better yet have you ever seen a deer with your own eyes that scored 176?? I am going to bet more than likely not. Why on earth would someone that is constantly in the hunting world spotlight lie about what his deer scores? For those of you that are worked up about what he does with his deer. What is wrong with donating to food banks. I would about guarantee most everyone here could survive with out having to go out and hunt but there are millions of people out there that cant. It is selfish of us as hunters not to help with the struggling families that have came upon a rough stretch in their lives. Its a neccessity for many deer to be harvested to keep a healthy herd anyways. SO if you have the money and the means to take numerous animals then by all means do it. Am I happy that Indiana is starting to get more publicity? Definitely not. I dont have the money to afford a lease or buy my own land. I am lucky enough to hunt some of the best property in the state. IMO That doesnt mean I am going to kill a big buck every year.

I used to be a kill kill kill person. That's all the use to matter, but not anymore thankfully.
I've never killed a buck that is noteworthy much less a record book deer, but I have seen them and I have seen mounts of them.
I don't believe Michael would ever lie about a score. A PR guy from Hoyt though? Well, they shouldn't either. Not good in any business to fib..fudge maybe? nah, I'd hope not!
I guess I'm just going to have to say it's the picture. We'll see exactly when he enters it in P&Y.
