HuntnPrayn.... hate to tell ya man... but Indiana is already a lease hunting victim.... Been that way for a few years now... and Waddell is not the only pro hunter that puts Indiana on TV.... Knight and Hale shoot in Indiana at least twice a year for deer.... and they come every spring for turkey.... They have had Indiana featured in more than a couple of shows.... Not only Indiana... but Parke County (very near the area that I hunt) and Vermillion County (on the actual ground that me and my buddies were leasing when "someone" came along and offered to double what we were paying.... that someone was an outfitter)

Vermillion County (on the actual ground that me and my buddies were leasing when "someone" came along and offered to double what we were paying.... that someone was an outfitter) Sounds familiar!

I would be surprised that K & H paid for a free range lease, most of their videos are fenced.... they even own their own fenced area.
But yes Indiana is lease crazy right now. although I think the economy will be taking care of some of that next season.

I'm a little mixed on this subject. My whole family enjoys watching Waddell, but I hate it that hunting is becoming a rich man's sport instead of a poor/working man's sport.

The outfitter is cousins with someone high up in K&H (I dunno who) so they come out and hunt his properties a few times a year... and in return he gets to spend a weekend on one of their properties in KY.... The only reason I know this is because a buddy of mine works for him at his "real" job..... laying flooring for Lowes.

lol, I know what the site says it scores, but I don't think it is. It doesn't look like his Kansas buck is as big as it says either. That's all I'm saying. Doesn't mean it's not. They are still fantastic bucks one should be proud of whatever they score.

Maybe there will be so much publicity that others will see it and say, "hey I want to hunt where he hunts since there are some big bucks in that area."......and maybe, just maybe those guys will be big lease hunters. Indiana has some big bucks, but I would hate to see Indiana become the next lease hunting victim. Hmmm, so promoting hunting is apparently a bad thing... my kids love Mike and t-bone, I don't see anything wrong with promoting hunting. I'd love to see them hunt the area I hunt, maybe they can find the deer that I can't. Good let them come and hunt where you hunt......let them promote it to the teeth......let the whole area become big lease.....hopefully you will be able to find ground that isn't leased......I'm not saying that MW isn't a nice guy or anything......I'm saying that enough big deer get killed in Pike Co., IL......enough promotion from those guys..........you do the math.

You can ask any trophy hunter looking toward the midwest, Indiana is the pimple on the backside of the midwest due to the long firearms season starting in the middle of the big boy movement, it isn't even a consideration to anyone looking to spend big money for a trophy. This fear of leasing is a joke, shorten the firearms and move it, then maybe after a few years you might have some worry.

That buck came from Marshall county, a couple miles due east of Lake Maxinkuckee. It's an awesome deer area.

I talked to my buddy and gross score was 176. The mass at the bases was 6 3/4 and buck had several stickers. I would say the 160's when it is all said in done. I guess they had a good week.
Scott Schultz - 150 inch T-Bone - 130 inch Waddell - 170 inch
Some guy that on the new show "Bone-collectors" starting in January wounded 2 bucks on separate properties. I guess he didn't have a good week. They couldn't find either.

On the Bone Collectors thing, I wonder if there is quite a bit of stress in trying to collect dead buck footage when starting a new show like that and maybe he forced his hand a little early or if it was just bad luck?
Who's Shultz? Is he the Scent Blocker guy?
Waddell's buck must be one mass laden beast!
Anyway, I think I need to try out the new Alphamax lol.

Scott Schultz owns Scent Blocker/Scent Shield. He used to lease some property in that area, but I don't think has it any longer. Scent Blocker also is a sponsor of Waddell so that is how they end up in Indiana, and I think Al Collins who owns the land is also in business with Schultz.

This fear of leasing is a joke, shorten the firearms and move it, then maybe after a few years you might have some worry. I'd just as soon keep things as is, have a loooong firearms season to enjoy hunting, and not have to worry about being pushed out of the sport by the pros.

It is just a joke that anyone would take this as a sign to lease up ground in this state. That is a contiguous 4000 acre game farm that is bow only, I believe. Good luck on trying to pull that off anywhere in Indiana. I know guys that have tried to buy or lease as much as they can and still go out of state for mature bucks due to surrounding gun pressure on their IN property. What little leasing we are seeing is from hunters that don't expect much and don't want to go east or west.

.....least he isn't shoveling his money to Illinois..... I don't think it was HIS money that paid for this hunt and I'm real sure that he went to Illinois to. On the latest Realtree Moster Buck video a guy killed a 160" buck in Posey county with Rivers bend outfitters. Bill Jordan comments on the video was "when you think about big bucks you usually dont think about Indiana BUT Indiana does have some big bucks"

Waddell has a rough job .... but somebody has to do it.
He killed a +/- 125" eight point hunting with the Collins boys last year too. That kill made the TV shows, and I'm sure this one will too.
