Looking at the ask a conservation officer forum there is a question about the .350 legend. I just got one and it seems like there might be ammo available that would make it non legal for public land? This sure seems complicated. The state tells me below a .350 legend is legal for public land and that is what I will be taking to Big Oaks this year.
Some cartridges legal for deer hunting on public land include the .350 Legend, .357 Magnum, .38-.40 Winchester, .41 Magnum, .41 Special, .44 Magnum, .44 Special, .44-.40 Winchester, .45 Colt, .454 Casull, .458 SOCOM, .475 Linebaugh, .480 Ruger, .50 Action Express, .500 S&W, .460 Smith & Wesson, .450 Bushmaster, and .50 Beowulf. Full metal jacketed bullets are illegal.

Yeah I do t know what it is. That’s usually the same for me. Call call and call and don’t get through till well after 9 and then all the ones I want are gone. There has to be a better system. Like maybe a lottery type draw with bonus points or something because dang I’ve got a lot of time invested in that place and can hardly ever get any of the southern units. I did hunt 75 once but it was on the youth hunt and my son was #1 in that lottery draw. So that’s what he chose but we did t see anything that day. Lol I hunted 75 once and we also saw nothing.

One year ago I had the very same problem with that same unit that was about the same vintage. I replaced the O-RINGS and carefully checked everything ...it still leaked I had a repairman come out and look at it and the best we could figure was there was a crack in the housing unit and that was just an educated guess. I installed a new water softener that works more efficiently. What kind of unit did you get?

My world is softeners. Unfortunately it's Industrial systems. But I have had some experience with the home units. First, it is common to break the black E-rings when trying to remove them, especially if they are old and brittle. However it is possible to use 2 small screwdrivers, one on each side to relieve and gently lift the E-ring out. The new O-rings should seal the bypass as long as the bypass is not twisted or contorted to the incoming valve or the softener body. If everything seems level, straight and plumb, you may have a hairline crack in the plastic body. Just curious, how old is the softener? probably 10 years

I have a kenmore 300 series softener. It's leaking where the bypass valve connects to the valve assembly on the underside. Circled in the picture is where it's leaking but the under side that you can't see. I ordered new washers and clips. It did not fix it. I can't see anything cracked on the underside. I can only get those rings off by breaking them so I'm waiting to take it back apart. Any suggestions before I call in backup?

Awesome! That looks like the makings for some great postcards! What were your accommodations, Camping? Lodging? Hotels? We stayed in an air bnb condo in Canmore about 15 minutes from Banff.

Can’t remember. Does 57 have a small pond in the center of it? I hunted one of those 50’s a few years ago early archery near a pond and saw plenty of bucks. Just no shots. I don't think it does.

I was not selected for Big Oaks muzzleloader or firearms. First time I've not drawn a hunt there. Bummer, my Dad also got the 4th. Wish we could give it to you.

Hi all, I got the .350 legend last night that I asked about in the other thread. It's a combo that came with a Vortex crossfire scope. I don't have a lot of experience with rifles and or scoped guns so don't crush me. Should I take the scope off and put some loctite on the bases or just leave? I also ordered a torque screw driver so I could also do that skip the loctite. I plan to use the torque on the scope rings.

If you buy from Cableas/Bass Pro look at the price match policy. I got them to match Sportsman Warehouse plus and extra 5% off since using Cabelas card.

I sure do! I know it's a haul, but the offer stands. If you decide you want to try it out, let me know and I'll gladly make a road trip to Lafayette or anyplace in between. Btw....I used it opening day in one of those rare snows in Southern Indiana. Took one of the management bucks we wanted out of the gene pool. 75-80 yard shot, 180 grain soft point. He went 10 feet and dropped. It is a fun rifle to shoot. Sent you a PM.

Looking at a Winchester xpr. Needs to be something Cabela's sells because I have a bunch of points. If you find something you want but it's available @ BassPro, you should be able to have it shipped to your local Cabelas and still use your points. Yep

I picked up an xpr titanium 350 legend last year and have enjoyed it. It can with the 22" barrel. Where you located? Gladly meet you and let you try it out. Lafayette. A little far. I know where you live. I hunted your place a long time ago during turkey season when I was visiting my wife's sister in Evansville. Remember that?
