Count me in if you have room. I wasn't sure until today if I was going to be able to hunt my normal spot so didn't know if I was even going to hunt this year.

Geez. As it gets light I have discovered the corn is still standing about 60 yards from me.

Going old school. Hunting on the ground in a blow down. Only hunted here a couple of times ans never seen a deer. Not hunting long. Going to the toilet bowl. AKA Purdue vs IU.

(From BO) The Refuge's deer season is finally over! We had a total of 403 deer harvested this year at Big Oaks. We hope everyone had a good time and we look forward to seeing you next year! Here are a few photos from last weekend: 📸 Look at this post on Facebook www.facebook.com/share/p/oyGUYW3GSUZmGwpc/?mibextid=Cx5MWHMaybe it's on the rebound and will keep going up. That's the highest since 2018. In 2020 it was only 170. I think they didn't have no show drawings due to Covid that year. Still a long way off from 804 in 2002.

Team 8 - My 9 point you just asked me about on the live thread. It may be a 10 point. I'm not sure about the point that broke off. It's wider than it is long. Anyways, into the lead we go. Also my reduction zone 9 point.

Buck down! .350 legend dropped him in his tracks. Did I miss it or did you not put him in the check in ? I haven't put him in yet or my reduction zone buck. I think it might just be your first buck though.

The farmer in the reduction zone called, he wants me to get my butt out there when the storm passes. He put in a new grain bin and put gravel over an acre of ground. If it is where I think it is, I can cover a LOT of the edge of the woods with the long range rifle from the shooting bench on the gravel area. That is if the wind cooperates. It takes me a few days on just one. I make my meat more clean than I probably need to but that's how I was taught. Someone brought in a truck load of 10 deer to the butcher here in Lafayette. Had to be a group effort though as it looked like a lot of bucks from the picture I saw.

I'll be honest, up till about 3 weeks before I thought it opened up on the week before it did. Of course, since I follow this site I would have figured it out. I was talking to someone at Church and they were talking about it opening the Saturday before Thanksgiving and I thought they were wrong. That's when I looked.

Congrats! Sounds like a lot of work. I have vowed to never shoot more than one again. If you are butchering them yourself that is a lot of work. I can only handle one at a time.

Making game plans for today and just watched Don Higgins Rut Report for yday. Most hunters saw little to no movement once again (me included), weather is being blamed for lack of daytime activity for most part. Went as far to say 2023 has been one of worst ruts he has seen in his career. As a whole the midwest has seen above avg temps for month of Nov.. That said I am not a quitter and with cool weather this a.m. I will be out till late morning. Good luck. For me I had one of the most exciting hunts I have ever had on Saturday. Chasing, grunting, and heard two snort wheezes for the first time ever.

I haven't had any luck and I'm having a tracking dog come. He is driving about an hour and 15 minutes. He doesn't have a set price and it's pay what you think it's worth. What do you guys think? Have you used a tracking service and how much was it?
