SB335 is an attempt by the Indiana Forestry Alliance to give big to hikers and take public land away from hunters, fishermen and trappers. A group that spends nothing on conservation (hikers) versus the hook and bullet crowd. I suspect some palms are getting greased on this one. iga.in.gov/legislative/2023/bills/senate/335

1 bill for House Natural Resources is HB 1178. It reduces by 50% the hunting fees for seniors. 1 bill of interest is HB1238 which is regulation of assault weapons which was sent to Public Policy Committee. I doubt it gets a hearing.

Bills are starting to show up for this year's legislative session. So far nothing has appeared for Natural Resources. There is a bill raising the age to carry a handgun from 18 to 21 years of age (SB 144). iga.in.gov/legislative/2023/bills/HatchetJack

If 8 dogs were put down at once, I think that would create a lot of distraction--for the hunters and the dogs. Agreed.

As I sat in the committee meeting when this issue came up, you are allowed 10 rounds in the field. They can all be in the gun or in your pocket. Doesn't matter. And this only applies to the HPR's not any handgun you might carry. If you have a .357 levergun it can have 10 rounds and your pistol could legally have 6 rounds. the intent was to prevent using 30 rounds in an AR or AK to kill a deer.

Banning the interstate transport of live catfish (as was requested in the proposal) would have stopped the stocking of catfish in farm ponds. I know of no large scale catfish farms here in Indiana. I'd say 90% of the live catfish that moves interstate are fish smaller than 13". It takes approximately 1.5 years go grow a catfish from fingerling size to 2#, which is market size, so a lot of catfish for market use could be grown in ponds. I don't stock any wild caught fish, all the fish that I stock are grown in production ponds, even the minnows. The proposal as I read it is in one direction only. It bans shipping Indiana fish to other states. "(f) An individual, possessing either a commercial or sportfishing license, may not take any live catfish longer than thirteen (13) inches caught in Indiana waters across state boundaries. " Doesn't say you can't bring fish from other states here.

I have noticed that it separates after sitting awhileโฆ once shaken it mixed back to normal milk look. I do shake it.. the bottle that is.๐ Itโs cheap enough.. Iโll buy some fresh. Be careful how you dispose of any of this stuff. Itโs very toxic to cats. Bobcats I hope...

You might be like me and settle for a ButterBall! ๐ . Iโve got 8 days of hunting so far this season and may well end up shoooting one out of the freezer section. That one today basically did a 270 turn around me through the day. I gave up at noon. He had been quiet for a good while and it was getting pretty warm out there. Hopefully make something happen this weekend. Keep after him!!! HJ
