Had to go work in New York for four weeks. Finally made it home on Friday, and was able to swing down to Kentucky yesterday and roost a bird last night. I was originally going to come down here Friday morning. Just need to make the most of these two days now so I can be back for our opener.

I pulled the cameras from my place on Saturday. I have a few long beards passing by at both places I set up.
Last night, after the rain, I watched 4 strutters and two hens in the field behind my house.
I am working Wednesday but, I am getting off a little early. I plan on taking Daphne, my beloved wife, out with me in the afternoon.
I was originally thinking about taking my compound bow the first few hunts but, after doing some shooting, something is off. Perhaps just me. But, I am not confident with a head shot. So, I may take my crossbow instead.

Yeah the winter flock in this spot was around a 100 birds. I dont care how many there are if they are done breeding you aren't going to call one in. We aren't hunting here anyway found them shrooming

Hopefully I have better luck here in Kentucky today. Yesterday I only heard one gobbler before sun up then the rain started moving in. Found a ridge and set up on it. About an hour after sunrise a flock of 4 hens and 1 Tom started working their way to me. They were a little too far and went around a small knob, so I started to crawl to the other side of the knob when I look over on this bench and another hunter is in full sprint crashing through the woods. He got within 30 of me so I just stood up and asked “what are you doing?” He said his friend is bailing because of the rain and is waiting on him. Needless to say I never saw or heard the turkeys after that. That’s public land for you
