Which was worse? Hitting the ground or driving home with full shorts?

RFK Jr. is anti-vax and that does it for me. He has expressed some good ideas, but some of his campaign staff and advisers are close to some Russians. I think he is more pro-responsible vax than anti. I would not rely on the information and infinite wisdom of the media when forming opinions. I don't care what anyone says or thinks, but a third party candidate will never be successful in a Presidential election. Never has, never will. Maybe successful in screwing it up (Ross Perot), but not going to win. If anyone is "on the fence" about who to vote for, just pay attention to your money, or lack of. Look at your utility bills, grocery receipts, insurance premiums, home repair materials costs, etc. Do some research on how much taxpayer money is spent on illegal immigrants, foreign aid, LGBTQBLAHBLAHBLAH causes, etc. I'm not saying that the President is the deciding factor, but that's where it all starts.

Over 15 years of being a "travel ball coach/Dad", get her something that fits her hand and you can break in easily. I wouldn't go crazy with money until you are sure she likes softball. Good luck, they're only little for a short time, enjoy the ride! Great advice on waiting until she decides on being dedicated. I spent too much money on tennis gear for our youngest to play one season. She has never touched a racket since.

After waiting for him to be LATE, I watched maybe 10 minutes. As expected, it was a campaign speech, not an address to the Nation.
Good thing there wasn't a drinking game created related to how many times Kamala stood up to clap. Today would be like the Monday after the Super Bowl.

I've bought from them a few times. I picked up the fish at the feed store in Scottsburg. I'd get the order in asap to ensure availability.
I don't own any ponds, but my former employer wanted me to stock two of his. The one was a 100% start from nothing. The spillway pipe failed and drained the pond. After reconstruction, I stocked it and the fish did great. It now has healthy bass, bluegill, and red ear. It's hard to tell with the other one. It was way overpopulated with bass. I caught and kept all I could before adding bluegill and red ear. I have caught some really nice bluegill, both hybrid and regular, but not a single red ear.

My in-laws are dead set against Trump. Last Saturday, they started the conversation. I try to avoid politics with family, but they didn't get the hint. EVERYTHING is Trump's fault! He's racist, narcissistic, and mistreated the veterans and the auto workers. I calmly asked for specific examples of everything they were hating on him for and I got NOTHING! Nobody in here is a bigger supporter than I am, BUT, Trump can be his own worst enemy. Without question, they would vote for literally anyone else. Same thing with my FIL and own father. I don't engage with my father simply because he isn't an a-hole about his political beliefs. My FIL, on the other hand, is. However, I promised my MIL (rip) that I would not discuss politics with him unless he starts it, and he rarely does.

Taking the day off, kids are out of school going to grill and watch from home. Same here. Supposed to be 90% from where we live. I could care less about the eclipse. All I know is that a few other families are coming for a cook out and I get to goof around and drink some beer. My wife bought some glasses from Amazon. I think they were $3.00 or so each.

Neighbors moved to a place about 45 minutes N of Tampa and they love it down there. Not on the beach but sorta close. Too dang hot for me in the summer. I'd have to have a boat for fresh water. A customer winters at Lake Okeechobee. He slays the crappie there. I know a guy that has a place near Okeechobee as well. About all he does is fish and play golf. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Mowed the yard yesterday. I can't remember ever mowing this early in March.
So foggy here this morning that it feels like a misty rain.

I was no more than 8 miles from this all day and didn't know anything about it until just a few minutes ago. That bridge is, in my opinion, too narrow for four lanes. I don't know the cause of the incident, but I'm never surprised when there is one. I don't even like driving a 1/2 pickup on it.

First off, I've never been shy about my dislike for Lapierre and his cronies. When I see them, I do NOT see outdoorsmen. I see "Wall St." businessmen. Feel free to get mad at me, but I don't like the NRA in general. Just me being honest. In fact, I would like to join a local shooting range, but one of the membership requirements is to be an NRA member. I'll probably give in since the range is five minutes from my house and the next closest one is 30.
Personal feelings aside, yes, political witch-hunting at it's best. As with her case against Trump, who is she bringing the charges on behalf of? As Barry O said, "elections have consequences." If conservatives continue to let radical liberals bet elected and, in turn, appoint radical liberal judges, this sort of thing will be more common.

Prior to last night, I wonder if IU, Louisville, and UK have all lost on the same night?
I'd say that Kenny Payne will be out at Louisville. His contract buyout reduces by $2mil or so after the season.

This is just another example of what happens when citizens with common sense don't vote and allow idiots to be elected. Then, said idiots appoint even more idiots to make policies and decisions that are continually changing our country for the worst. This makes me so mad that I can hardly type!
If the Republican brass keeps farting around and letting @$$ clowns like Matt Gaetz be an influence, we are heading down a one-way hole towards DEI, ESG, and all of the other crap the Democrats are pushing.
I saw that the city of Chicago filed a lawsuit against several oil companies for "climate damage." What the hell? The judge should throw the layers in jail. Wait, the judges in Chicago are all appointed by Democrats or elected by the same citizens that put Democrats in office almost exclusively.

Imagine that. Another technical on IU. At least Purdue got beat. I hope PU can keep it together and make a run into the end of the year. They are a very good team but if their guards play like they did today it will be hard to win. B10 needs a team to do well in the ncaa tournament. Been a while since a team made it deep. Purdue obviously did not play their best game. It seemed like OSU hit darn near every shot! They did not play like a struggling team. PU shooting 100% from the free throw line is admirable. I don't know it they even hit the rim at all.

Ticks

Post by beermaker on Feb 16, 2024 12:27:34 GMT -5
Do you suppose there are chemical differences between individuals that cause ticks to be attracted to one person -vs- another? Reason I ask is because I hear lots of people that mushroom hunt, turkey hunt, fish, etc. constantly dealing with and worrying about ticks. I do as much of this outdoor stuff as anyone and see a few ticks, but rarely have issues. Maybe I just stink? They've actually done studies on mosquitoes and ticks on preferences of blood type. Mosquitoes prefer O blood and then B with A being the least. Ticks prefer A and then O and B being the least. I'm O neg and mosquitoes and ticks find me very easily. I don't know her blood type, but our youngest daughter is an absolute mosquito magnet. We can all be in the same place and she will get bit far more than anyone else. It has been like that her entire life.

Been nice to be able to replenish fish in a few short days. Just been hammering them in coves in shallow water. These will be tacos tomorrow night or Saturday. Got a pork butt on and it’s just about at 205 degrees. What part of the state are you located?

If the current temperature trend continues, I'll be mowing grass in a few weeks. I say that as the weatherman on TV is talking about 2-3" snow this afternoon, but we were in the 60's the last two days.
